I am so happy with how quiet this generator is compared to others I have used. The 4 stroke engine and cover really damp down the noise. I have it on my deck just outside the living room, and with the doors an windows closed it makes a minimal impact. Also love running it on propane.

So far so good.... we've only had it for 1 day... it's not really easy to change the oil unless you have small hands. But it runs good. We were hoping that we could turn the generator on in the middle of the night with the remote but that is not the case. We still have to plug the trailer cord in to start it up. We will see how it goes. And update will come if things change.

Bought this iGen5000DFc less than 2 weeks ago and I love it. bought it for my 22' travel trailer and just broke it in and tested t on my rv. has sufficient power to run what ever I need with the A/C going which is important for boondocking during the summer months. Control panel seems well thought out and the unit is quiet, my wife even noticed its quietness when she came out of the house. Also bought the iGen tent for it, did not have a manual with it and looked a little challenging to assemble. Printed out the manual from there website and was not to difficult once I got the hang of it.

Easy start-up, works great, remote start works great, great features like digital display power and fuel usage, love compact size and operationally quiet. I just purchased so haven't put it to a great test as of yet. But so far, it looks and operates great out of the box.

I initially went with a different brand for a dual fuel generator but I'm glad it didn't work out. The Westinghouse fires up immediately and purrs quietly. I haven't used this that much yet (bought it for emergency use) but I believe it's going to serve me well when the time comes.

I just purchased the igen4500df and it is perfect for my needs in different applications. It will be used to power RV when needed, but as well at jobsite powering power tools. It is heavy but with built in wheels and handle it will transport easily for social events. It's design is high tech. I look forward to years of use.

We have been using this inverter for three weeks now and are so happy with it. It's nice and quiet, powerful enough to run the fancy schmancy gadgets in our off-grid cabin, and the remote works great through walls and doors. Thanks Westinghouse for making an awesome product!

These generators are awesome when new without issues but because of way they pack everything inside over time wires start getting destroyed.Everything is just so close the more you use these the more they fail.Yes they put wrap around the wires but because everything is just packed into unit to make it small and quieter, you end up getting rubbed through wires that short out or cause intermittent shutdowns to surging.Having replaced many inverter modules from wire rub through and shorting out to starters I just would not recommend any of these type gennys because of high failure and break down rates.This is same with cummins igen , westinghouse , champions....they all have same issues.when you have to basically take apart everything including flywheel just to change starters on these its just not worth owning because usually just about time warranty is up is when they begin to fail from poor workmanship and design.Most repair shops will just let them sit till they have nothing else left to work on.i have yet to open up one with 250 or more hrs and not find the wire covers where they have at least begun to rub which leads to hole then exposed wire cores where it has rubbed completely through.Design is just not best , quiet but just do not last.

Did the reviews and it was exactly the same as the Cummins but cheaper. Did all the quick start up. Let it run to break in for the recommended time. It was sooooo easy to pull start. I was trying to be gently and let the engine cycle a few time to get oil circulated. The engine fired up accidentally on me. Then I was impressed with how quiet the thing was…. I messaged my neighbor behind me and told him I was breaking it in and would have it off before night. He told me that he couldn’t hear it to my surprise. Very pleased.

I just got this generator for camping where there is no power like a music festival. I had hoped this would be quiet enough that it would allow for minimal noise while trying to sleep with the pop out ends of of hybrid travel trailer out. I’m not sure that will be the case. Don’t get me wrong it’s quiet and when I’m in the camper with the ends folded in, the generator running about ten feet away and the ac blower running in the camper, you don’t really hear it running, however I think with the canvas ends out, we unfortunately, probably will hear it running plain as day. So it’s definitely not a quiet as I would like. Outside of that it is well built. Feels sturdy with not cheap plastic. The pull handle is nice but you can’t tilt the generator back at all without the risk of spilling gas/oil so it’s not meant for long distance moving. I’d have two people one on each handle for movement. The dimensions of the generator at 17” at the base (wheel to wheel), about 19” tall from the ground and about 26 long from the wheel to the front. Use this information when you are looking for something to store the generator in. So far I have put it through the break in period and changed the oil. I bought a two way siphon pump because the oil drain plug makes a mess (saw this in other reviews and videos online). This made getting the oil out very easy. I then found a .6L bottle that I refill from a larger bottle so I know I can just dump the bottle in. This makes each change a little quicker, less wasted oil and helps eliminate opportunities to spill from over fill. I love the digital read out area. No questions about how much fuel is left, how much run time left on the remaining fuel, how much power you are using, time run for maintenance purposes and voltage being produced to prevent damaging anything. I did plug my rv surge protector in which has a diagnostic light and indicating there is no ground?? Perhaps this generator is not bonded?? For now I have the camper plugged directly into the generator as I believe the generator is regulating the power coming out and there a surge protector is not needed. I’d like some further explanation about this from Westinghouse but it seems to maintain solid voltage around 124. Running the generator and my camper RV today in the 94* NC heat. Will monitor voltage during the course of operation. But the gauges and info the five are awesome! I see the failure point on this generator being the pull start so I would encourage anyone looking at them to pony up, don’t be cheap like I was and get the electric start! I think having that battery start option with the pull as an emergency back up will extend the life of your generator and prevent it from having to go to a service person to have the pull cord replaced (I’m not even sure where there are any Westinghouse service folks near me, yikes!). I would like to see a few things on future models. First, a better oil draining system. Second, an easier way to drain the fuel tank and easier access to the fuel shut off switches when you want to drain the fuel line and carburetor during long term storage. After this weekend I most likely won’t use this again until a power outage as we don’t do a ton of off the grid camping except for music festivals, which we are unfortunately reaching the end of that season. Third I would like to see some eye hooks permanently attached to the unit for locking purposes. You can lock through the handles but something on the sides would be nice. Fourth, improved insulation to further damper the sound of the engine. Fifth, I would like to see the exhaust heat redirected up, away from the grass. I have two dead spots in my yard from the the generator running and killing the grass with the exhaust. This is also problematic because I bought the Igen Generator umbrella which says it can be used during operations in the description but based on the heat coming from the exhaust, I’m not so sure I feel comfortable with that, I’ll have to read the directions from the umbrella and go from there…. I will probably be sending the umbrella back and purchasing a small easy up to put up over the generator if it needs to be used during any kind of in-climate weather. I feel very comfortable knowing I have this generator that can easily power my 19 foot hybrid travel trailer. I think there are definitely some improvements that can be made to produce a more superior product but overall I am VERY happy after two years or research and questioning myself about different brands that I finally purchased this Westinghouse dual fuel inverted generator. I hope to use it for years to come and that Westinghouse stands behind their product warranty without too much (or any) headache!
