Bought this for our RV. Didn’t want to disturb our neighbors. Inverter only revs up when you use an appliance. We plug into the 30 amp outlet and we’re all set for football games on tv. We’ve also been using it with our power tools and it’s perfect. We load it onto the back of our pickup truck and take it into the woods where we’re working on building a bridge. Extremely happy with our purchase!

It came today, and it was easy to take out of the box. I love the wheels, and it seems it is very easy to make it work. I look forward to this hurricane season with a dual fuel generator that can run a small a/c unit, plus other items. Hope I do not need, but it is wonderful that I have it, just in case.

I looked at the remote start. I wanted something quiet also a generator which was lite weight.'' about 98 lbs''. I ran generator for a short time. Started several times just to play. No problem. I got it for my RV to camp off the grid. I will have a better idea of how it works at the end of summer of 2022. I do like the manual that came with it. It covers a lot of info. I liked that. I like the control panel.

Set everything and fired it up and it runs great. Still have to load test under heavy loads. One small problem is the battery terminal came with battery acid, I’ll be contacting the manufacturer for a replacement. Will update once I have more information.

Sold my WEN 3800 for the Westinghouse iGen 4500DF. It came with no damage and started up on the first try using propane. Keep in mind I live at an elevation of over 5,000’. There is not too much else to say about this generator, the reviews speak for themselves.

Great machine! I live in Northern California and bought it in anticipation of the next power shut down. I had read other reviews and was really anxious to pick one up, but they had been out of stock wherever I looked. When I saw that it was available again, I picked one up. I was so impressed, I bought a second one for my mother-in-law's place.

Bought this a couple days ago for occasional power outages (once or twice a year). Using propane tank (have not put gas in) to avoid having to drain or worry about gas getting old. Runs well so far, but only used 1 hour. Have not had outage to test for longer use.

I bought this April 2019 from Home Depot online. Arrived very quickly to the store for pick up. Good packaging and instructions. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Powers my camper effortlessly with air conditioner. Runs well on gas and propane, nice feature is the remote starter. Received many compliments on how quiet it is and questions while camping.

Received the iGen4500DF yesterday. It was packed well and had no apparent damage. The unit started easily on LP but I didn't have proper gas to try. Everything seems to operate as it should. Will test it with loads soon and report with a new review. I see no reason at this time to rate this portable generator anything but a 5. Really do wish that gen cover would be for my size unit!!!

The generator seems like a fine product. The main issues I have had have been out-of-date (apparently) documentation. The user manual, in the section about transporting the unit, refers to controls which are not on the console. The user manual also states the wrong part numbers for the gas and propane high-altitude kits. We're at 5500 feet, so the high altitude jets are required to be installed for the warranty. I found the correct ones (I assume) on the Westinghouse parts website. (I sent some questions to Westinghouse trying to confirm this but never received a reply to this day, even after pinging them again.) The only documentation for installing a propane high-altitude kit that I could find was for an open-frame generator, but it was fairly straightforward to adapt for this one. The blog (and pdf) that documents how to do install the high-altitude kit for gas is unclear from the photos on how to disconnect the wiring for the carburetor in order to remove it - there is one wire that goes from a box on top of the carburetor, over the top of things and through a metal twist that holds some wiring together, and down the right side into the bottom, with no connection plug in sight or that can be felt, but it is too taut to remove the carburetor as-is. I finally was able to remove the carburetor without disconnecting this wire, by releasing the twist, which gave me some slack to slide the carburetor off the posts and feed it through to the front of the unit to continue the jet replacement process. (I took copious, high-res photos throughout this process to use as my own reference, so Westinghouse, if you want them to update your documentation, contact me.) I'm not a mechanic but I was able to do this in about 6 hours. After completing the jets replacements, I filled it with oil and put in some gas. It is very difficult to see whether the oil is full or not - it has a completely horizontal opening, which drips oil if you get too much in, but is pretty hard (impossible, actually) to tell that it is getting to that point. The supplied funnel actually screws into this horizontal hole for filling. The instructions say to pour the entire provided bottle of oil into the generator, but also says not to overfill. Well, it was overfull, and I went through several paper towels trying to catch all the runoff. It would be better if the opening for adding/checking oil was at a bit of an upward angle, and straight towards the outside, so you could look in (say, down through the funnel?) I then tested it in eco-mode with a hair dryer on two settings, with gas and propane, using the remote control and then the push button, and that worked correctly. Finally I tried to use the pull-cord. It backfired on my first attempt and then I was unable to get it to start. This may be because the engine is too big for me to get it to turn over (I am a 59-year old female, fairly fit but maybe not strong enough.) It still started ok afterwards with the remote. As far as loudness goes, some say it is very quiet. I do not have other generators to compare this to. I walked around to the front of my house while it was running and I definitely could still hear it - it sounded like a distant lawnmower running. I'll have to say, this generator may come in handy some day, but I hope it doesn't!
