Seems great BUT ...

... but do NOT follow the instruction "pour the entire bottle of oil into the engine". Maybe I got lucky and they sent me extra oil, but now I have a large oil stain on my deck. Otherwise, seems great - its pretty awesome to be able to turn on a generator with a key fob instead of dislocating my shoulder with the recoil start

Works great!

I did the research and read a lot of reviews of this product and finally decided on the iGen4500DD. I needed dual fuel and clean inverter power. Set up was simple, easy, and the unit started right up with the remote the first time! It’s pretty quiet. My wife was impressed too.

Really Solid Inverter with Good Power

Bought this unit about 6 weeks ago. Traveled across the U.S. and did about 4,000 miles. Used the inverter with my truck camper to power AC, refrig and other items. Summer temps were between 85 and 95 degrees. Operated in sun and rain. The inverter casing seems watertight. The economy mode seems to cycle evenly with changes in power requirements. Put the 100 lb. generator in my enclosed trailer to haul it around.

Favorably impressed

So far I am very impressed. The apparent quality, fit and finish, documentation/manual, supplied accessories and operation all very satisfactory. I was especially impressed with the exploded views of the parts, parts list and the schematic which showed not only wire colors but also gauges. As a Electrical Engineer this quality of schematic is not common. Still in the break in period so I expect satisfactory performance and reliability.

iGen 5000 purchased for the features

I just received this product and appears undamaged out of the box. I like the dual fuel option and will likely use propane the most. Purchased to use for RV and camping. After adding oil and attaching propane, it started right up. So far running smoothly during the break in timeframe. May add updates after using for more intended demands. Sound level as expected, like a muffled lawn mower. Much quieter than a standard generator.

Awesome so far

I researched generators for quite a while before deciding on this one. The features that mattered to me the most were dual fuel, remote/push-button start, and the noise level. We have another inverter generator that we bought when we had a pop-up trailer, but we needed something with more power after purchasing a travel trailer with an AC and a microwave. Everything works so far, it's much quieter when running on propane. I also like that all the plugs and things on the control face have little covers/caps to keep out dust and water. One thing I wish it had was some kind of locking point where you could run a chain lock through it to secure it to something. I'll use the two top handles, but it looks like it only takes a small socket to unscrew the bolts that hold those handles on.

Just what I needed

Opened box and lifted out with a small grunt (mind you, I'm 69), then discovered a film of oil covering most of the outside (not sure what that's all about), battery cover was dislodged and battery was hanging halfway out of its location (again ?), no damage and battery fully charged. Wiped off all the oil and then started reading literature that came with. filled oil, connected battery and LP tank, started up with no issues and ran like a purring kitten, plugged in Air Compressor, no challenge for this unit, connected to RV and ran Micro wave and A/C and handled both very well. This Generator is easy to maneuver although it does weigh a bit, but still is manageable, a perfect match for our 5th wheel with the remote start and decibels are very reasonable for this size of Generator. A nice designed Westinghouse.

OVERFILLED OIL

While I haven't even had a chance to start my new generator, I did experience its operation at Elk camp this year. A friend owns one and it ran super quiet and flawlessly all week on a 20 gal. propane tank. However, my new one arrived today and I read the operator's manual front and back. I followed the directions on filling it with oil. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the container that was provided, and as I removed the funnel, oil started pouring into the engine compartment and onto the garage floor. I would say that nearly a full cup of oil came out. What a mess to clean up. Now if some of you are thinking that my garage floor is not level, that's not the case. I also got some nasty cuts on both hands due to the sharp edges inside the various compartments - so I advise wearing thin gloves when possible.

Dual fuel genset powers my RV

Easy to use generator that will power my class C RV. Handles my 13,000 btu AC and microwave no problem. The watt meter on the panel seems a bit off compared to my killowatt meter, but overall nice genset. Only have 30 hours on the it, but so far so good. I recommend following the manufacturer's break-in instructions and change the oil regularly.

Easy Setup and started right up.

The only negative are a plastic oil dipstick and a hole that is a little small and hard to get your hand in there. Also I tried to take the cover off and one of the screws stripped right off the bat. It did run my refrigerator and air conditioner.
