Awesome!

This is our 1st generator and I couldn't be happier with my purchase so far. Super easy to setup (I'm using Propane) and starting the unit couldn't be any easier than pushing a button! Much quieter than I expected which is another plus. Plan on building it a small generator shed and hooking it up to a 6 circuit transfer panel in the garage in case the next ice storm causes us issues. Now I may never loose power again not that I finally have a generator but that's perfectly ok with me.

Love this!!

Bought this for going out west and primitive camping in the mountains. Worked absolutely wonderful. My only complaint was that the fuel gauge didn’t seem 100% accurate as it read about a 1/4 less than how much fuel was actually in it. Battery strap also unhooked during the drive, but we took very rough roads so I don’t blame that on the generator at all. Was able to use the remote to start every single time, and when needed to pull, only required two pulls and it fired up flawlessly. Aside from the fuel gauge issue it worked wonderfully and I’m very pleased with the purchase.

great quiet capable generator

first use 6 months after we bought it. very easy and quick to set up and get going. started right up and runs very quietly. we bought it to power our 31 foot camper, which it does very well. it even powered most of our house during the power outage after hurricane milton.

So easy to start and quiet too !

Recently decided to upgrade from my old generator to this quiet inverter type generator for my RV. Wow what a difference! Push button start, dual fuel capable and quiet, runs everything on my RV with no problems at all. I should have done this years ago.

iGen4500DF Out-of-Box First Impression

First impression of the outer box is that it was a bit light weight and I was in for some broken parts as the banding straps had cut deep into the cardboard. Opened the box to find the battery door was not attached, the battery was hanging out of the battery compartment, and the battery hold down strap near the oil fill plug. Good news is none of the parts were damaged, but reinstalling the battery hold down strap and battery is a bit tight for adult hands. Filled up with oil using the provided oil and screw in funnel, with no issues. Hooked up the propane line to the regulator and then the generator with no issues. (Generator came with a tool kit, so no need to go to the toolbox.) Turned on the propane, pressed the ON/OFF button and within a couple revolutions it was running and more quiet than I had anticipated. Ran for an hour with 1K load no issues. Have not tested with the 15K RV AC unit yet. Only real negatives were the condition of packaging, parts dislodged in transit, and the battery and oil fill access panels a bit too small for adult hands.

Excelent Features

I bought this generator as a backup during outages. The generator seems to be stable with no tension fluctuation. The noise is extremely low: it is possible to even talk close to the generator. The only issue that I have: it is too difficult to remove the old oil, when you are changing the engine oil.

Great Customer Service and Good product

My first IGen generator had a recall on the unit and was sent a new generator which did not start on gas. Customer service was very helpful and was able to get me a new one quickly which has been working well. Prior to the recall unit the generator was working well and was used on several camping trips this year. The lighter weight is nice without sacrificing quality. Very easy set-up and I especially like the ability to start the unit with the key fob from the trailer without having to go to the unit when needing to run the microwave for a short period. The unit is quieter than most generators. I picked this unit for the portability and ability to wheel it to a given location and it has not disappointed.

Worked great with no issues

I bought this for emergency for when not if my house power goes out and it worked great. It started up first try and has always worked. So for only used propane and it worked great, i had no issues with it starting or shutting off or overload issues. It was really quiet for the power that it generates. I recommend this generator. I will continue to test it but so far so good

Has it all

I am very happy with this generator. I selected the igen4500df because: 1 - Quiet Inverter Generator 2 - Higher Wattage for an Inverter Generator 3 - Remote Start 4 - Dual Fuel I waited a couple months for it to come in stock after deciding on this one. Seems Westinghouse had some production delays. I ended up ordering and getting one in mid-August 2019. I bought from Home Depot because I trust them if I get a melon to make it right. I got it set up in 10-15 minutes. I was able to lift out of the box by myself. I put the supplied oil in (note - if you use the full .6L bottle provided you will overfill the oil reservoir). I hooked it up to a 20lb propane tank, pushed the start button and it started right up. I ran it for 20 minutes or so and then shut it down. I tested the remote start/stop from close by and it works great. I ran for about 8-10 hours with low load and then changed the oil (I put in full synthetic). Then, I took it up to the cabin the following weekend to really test it. I ran it about 8 hours / day for 2 days and it worked flawlessly. I ran it on gas and it goes a LONG time on a little gas. The remote start/stop worked well. I turned it off at night and then started it in the morning and it fired right up...even leaving the battery switch on all night. It seems the remote start has a bit longer range than the stop, for some reason. I was 40-50 yards away and needed to walk outside to start it and walk a little close still to stop it. I really like the feature overall. My morning starts were mid 40s (F). I didn't have any issues with cool weather starts. I will be using it this winter and am interested to see if the auto-choke feature does its job. This thing is quiet! I previously had a 6500w champion. That thing has a lot of power but it is loud (not an inverter). The igen4500df ran all day 30 yards from our camp fire and we forgot it was there. I don't care about the fancy gadgets / power meter / usb chargers. We plug into the big 30amp outlet to power the cabin (well pump (110v), lights, toasters, AC, chargers, etc) and forget about it. When the well pump kicks on the lights dim as it spins up and then handles it fine. I'd buy again. I'll try to post again after winter with an update.

love the quick start

two of us bought this unit after seeing several of our neighbors using it. have had a couple issues getting propane started but gasoline works great.Love the quick start and am setting it up in a secure place. I needed 2200 watts and my little honda wasn't handling the load. now am feeling real good about the whole house using the power. wish it was a little quieter but can live with it.
