This was the easiest new equipment start up ever. Opened the box, took it out. Hooked up the battery per the very good instructions, and added the oil. Connected it to the propane tank and pushed the start button on the remote FOB. It started right up on the first try. Wow this was so easy. I did a lot of research and comparing, read hundreds of reviews. This was a great decision. I will be using this for my RV and for power outages at home. I purchased a cargo carrier with a ramp, so I can roll this generator on to it, never having to lift it. The extending handle on this generator makes it VERY easy.

We bought this to better power our cabin, but it seems the cold temperatures of Alaska make starting the generator extremely difficult even if we store it inside at night… if we could figure out how to get it to start and stay started this would be a wonderful investment.

I researched generators for our Toy Hauler for over a year and finally decided on this Westinghouse iGEN4500DF. The dual fuel is perfect! Easy start up and operation. VERY quiet. Weighs under a hundred pounds so can be lifted and moved with ease. Even easier with the pull out handle that makes it as easy as pulling my old little red wagon! All controls and indicators are easily read and understood. Very well engineered! Works great with our 30 AMP RV hook up. In future, will be off road boondocking for sure!

I bought this about a month ago and started it just now tested and it seems to work great with the propane. I haven’t tried the gasoline part of it out yet. I tried manual start, Electric start and the remote key fob start and shut down they all work terrific! On the first start it did take a little while and attempted approximately four times before starting due to the air in the line from the propane tank to the generator. I did try to start it after that a few times in each way and it worked tremendous first time every time!

Just got this generator. filled it with oil, charged the battery and it started right up. Hooked it up to my camper from 125 feet away with extension cords and turned everything on except for the roof air. It was running about 25% load. Very quite. Raining bad this week. When it dries out I will bring it out to the camper and hook up the 30 amp plug and run the A/C to. I'm excited to hook up to the house when the power goes out. The old generator was so loud, kept me awake. This will be so much better and quiter. Love the digital readout.

Recently bought this and so far, I am not disappointed. Did a lot of research on dual fuel generators and what sold me was the dual fuel, power output, remote start, and reasonable size. This generator will ultimately pull double duty as a RV power source and also partial home backup power. For those wanting to remote the exhaust, this is very easy to do with how the exhaust is set up. No fabrication necessary. 1" silicone high temp hose and a host clamp is all you really need. Just be sure to put a CO2 sensor by it. Safety first! Some reviews talked about having to do some work to their generator's choke to make it run. I didn't have to do that. Put the oil in it and connected the battery. Generator started on the 2nd crank of the remote button. My only knock on this was that the manual says that the oil resevoir is 0.6 quarts. The oil they give you in the box also has 0.6 quarts. I dumped all the oil in it thinking that it would not overflow. wrong! Don't do what I did. Check it after you have put about 3/4 of the bottle in the unit. Save yourself the mess.

I’ve literally dreamt about this generator before ordering it when camping. It is so nice to hook it up and not have to leave the trailer to go out into the cold and wet Oregon mornings and night to start it. Packed with features and the remote start and dual fuel are the selling points I’m stoked on. Plenty of power. I also love the wheels and handles I didn’t know it had until I unboxed it.

I purchased this generator during a cyber monday sale, and couldn’t find a better generator for the price and with all of the features we want. The carbon monoxide shut off is a huge peace of mind for us! As far as I can see westinghouse is the only company to sell a propane generator in California!

Works likes it supposed to so far. After you get fuel through the lines it starts up first crank. The electric start and remote both work no problem. The plug for the built in battery charger is nice because I already forgot to shut off my battery and I killed it but I just plugged it into an outlet to get it charge. I have run it off both gas and propane with no issues. The noise level isn’t to bad for a generator this size. Running it on the grass or dirty vs concrete will reduce the noise a lot. The only cons the this generator so far are that the oil change is kind of a pain on this model. I recommend get an after market oil drain hose to put on. It’s heavy but so are all generators this size. No easy to get to manual fuel shut off valve. The manual say to turn on the manual choke and fuel valve but this model doesn’t not have those because it is all automatic. The muffler sits a little low so you might kill some grass if you don’t cover the grass with something like a piece of wood. Overall a very easy to operate dual fuel generator. I hooked it up to my small camper trailer and was able to run my small AC unit, the 12 volt refrigerator, and the microwave all the the same time with power to spare.

I liked my first Westinghouse 4500DF that I bought a second one. I also bought the parallel kit to run them simultaneously for 50 amp service. I haven’t run them but based on the obvious quality of the construction and design it was not a mistake. I’ve recommended this product to friends already!
