Good size and quiet.

Picked this generator because reviews said it was quiet and had adequate power. I also needed the dual fuel option and a remote. I was disappointed to find the remote does not work. I am contacting the company tomorrow. Hoping this issue will be resolved.

So far so good!

Just delivered today. Added oil, connected battery, hooked up propane tank and it started up right away. Tested a 950W Microwave oven that drew 25% of rated propane load and all was good. Small, quiet, and transports well with wheels and handles. Oil compartment a bit too small for my taste but no problems to access.

Great Features

I got this for Xmas. I ran a bunch a tests on it and it looks good. I needed to have something easy to use and maneuver. Just looking to be able to keep a pellet stove and a few lights going in an emergency. The remote start / push button start was a must for my wife to use while I am away if needed. It is a little heavier than I wanted, but the telescopic handle makes it fairly easy to move around. It is quieter than I expected.

Looks good so far

The unit arrived ahead of schedule by several days however.... they set it in my driveway conveniently infant of the garage door but.... upside down. When opened and removed from the shipping bag there was oil on all the surfaces. HOPEFULLY this is just cosmetic and I know there is usually some residual oil left in the machine. Heavy but rolls easily. Surprised the 30A receptical was not for a locking plug. Used to seeing them on marine applications. Looking forward to starting it up on propane since the house is plumbed for it and has two very large supply tanks.

Has everything I wanted.

This is a very sophisticated machine! Its pretty quiet, and has remote start, dual fuel, parallel capability and a "suitcase-type" handle to wheel it around. It also makes a few more watts than most of the similar units I looked at. It is clearly a cut above the competition. Customer service answered a question I had via phone immediately. When you register the machine with Westinghouse, you need the serial number. It is found on a barcode "sticky" tag that has the number on it. But it doesn't say serial number.

The Perfect Generator

I did quite a bit of research and compared many models before deciding on this one. The remote start is just one of the many features that makes this unit worth owning. The dual fuel capability is another one. The fact that the propane connection hose, with regulator, and a battery charger is included is a plus. It even comes with a tool kit. The control panel is loaded with options. The digital display shows the approximate gas tank level and remaining run time along with the voltage and wattage outputs. It also keeps track of lifetime usage hours. All of the user ports and switches are equipped with protective covers. Switching from gasoline to propane is just a simple flip of a switch on the control panel once the propane tank is connected. In addition to the two heavy duty recessed grab bars on the top of the unit, there is a built in extendable handle that collapses completely out of the way when not in use. The 5 1/2 inch wheels are just right for moving across rugged terrain. Getting at the battery and oil dip stick is done by pushing the tab on the top side of the removable access panels. This housing of this compact transportable generator is sleek and smooth. Nothing sticks out beyond the cover and it completely encloses the engine and inverter with sound dampening material making this probably the quietest 4500 watt generator on the market.

Fits in small space for storage

This was purchased for back up home power. It was relatively easy to set up once I got it unpacked. Fed Ex left it at the wrong gate and getting it onto the property was difficult because it is quite heavy, and awkward to move in such a large box, over gravel path instead of driveway. Nice that the unit came with the oil needed to fill the unit. Would have been helpful to know approximately how much oil to put in (almost the whole container) instead of just warning not to overfill and to stop frequently to check with dip stick. Started on first try with propane, so nice that it came with a charged battery. Battery installation was not easy; had to remove battery to do the quick release connection and the rubber strap would not connect to hold it back in place, I had to use wire to attach the strap to its hooks in the back.

So Far, So Good

I purchased this dual fuel iGen4500 DFc generator a month ago and though I have not needed it for a power outage yet, that is primarily why I purchased it. I had help from a neighbor who is more experienced with generators than I to set it up and get it running. I then ran it myself for the 5 hour break in period that day as we were expecting a storm. I have given it 4 stars because it was a bit challenging to get the battery hooked up, due to the fiddly strap and positioning it properly. Also, it took a few tries to get it to start, and finally started it with the remote at a distance. The instructions said to vary the load during the break in period, and I used a hair dryer to accomplish that. I’m hopeful that I can give a more detailed review after using it for a time. I chose it because it has features that allow me, a senior female, to move it around easily, use different fuels, and use the digital readout to give me up to date info on fuel, load, running time etc.

Amazing Product

We did a lot of due diligence looking at various generators and reading reviews. This Westinghouse Dual Fuel iGen4500 generator had the highest 5 Star rating and it is living up to those reviews. We are VERY happy we purchased this one. Received delivery on a Friday and was in the woods camping on Saturday. It performed excellent!!!

Quiet and love that it runs on propane

I've been using the generator periodically for about 2 months to power an RV. I love that it's one of the quietest generators I've been around. It's easy to use. The remote is a great feature, being able to shut it off at night and start in the morning without having to go out in the cold. I chose this model because it was one of the larger ones I could find with the dual fuel capability, allowing it to run much longer on propane. It's high output capability gives me the ability to charge whatever power tools may be needed for a few people out at a remote work site. Aside from the run time with propane, I like not having to drain the tank if I'm transporting it.
