Customer reviews for Samsung 55" Class TU700D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV UN55TU700DFXZA forBeautiful Picture, Terrible Interface
i got this tv to replace a 10 year old television that stopped working. it seems liked a great option, and it has really good reviews. i understand with any newer tv model there's a learning curve to adjust to menu layouts and quirky brand features. however, the awkwardness and confusing design of the app menu layout; the incredibly slow, lagged and often over compensated menu scroll speed; and "smart" features like the one to reopen the last app didn't work. i gave this tv over 15 days to convince me it was for me, but i eventually decided that i couldn't handle the laggy menu and traded it in for a different brand of tv.

TV is fine, software is not.
bought the tv almost one year ago to the day (nov 30th, 2020). the tv is now stuck and say it needs updated by a usb drive. i've tried over and over to put the current firmware onto a usb drive and to get it to repair or reboot and apply it. no luck and samsung support hasn't been able to help so far. pretty annoying that a firmware update that should be taking place in the background somehow is corrupt? can't even change inputs to roku or a game system.

Affordable 4K sweetness
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 4k tv is an entry model that punches above is weight. I have it mounted in my bedroom and it's slim bezels and ample brightness is more than enough for me. With HDR support, streaming movies and shows is truly enjoyable. With the truly tested samsung remote and the tizen os, navigating around the menu is a breeze. If you're looking for a store bright screen and extremely low refresh rates, you might need to look for something higher priced or specd. Blacks are super black and 4K content is as rich as can be. With ample hdmi and other inputs, connecting your speaker system is as easy as ever. Surely looking forward to getting one for the kids room for those cocomelon & peppa pig nights .
I love my new TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trying my tv for a week, I have to say that I love my new TV. This is such an improvement over my older TV. The image colors are vibrant and defined, and make the viewing experience more enjoyable. Great sound with fabulous smart features, it comes with a lot of apps already installed and it's very easy to access to them. I loved that I can connect my phone via WiFi and use it as the remote control. Set up was super easy. This TV has exceeded all my expectations. All though I do wish it had more than 2 hdmi ports. I highly recommend this TV to everyone.
Picture was great for one day
This TV had good picture for 24 hours and then the picture had a purple/pink hue. And no Samsung, per your suggestion to every bad review, there is no firmware update available for my TV. As per other reviews a reset has temporarily resolved the issue but I will be returning this TV tomorrow.

Disappointed that Samsung would sell this
This TV was very disappointing. I have owned another Samsung TV that still works 16 years later. I bought this model in 2022 thinking that it would be a good purchase. However, the display has become so dark that it is hard to watch anything. There are 5 round lights in the back screen of this TV but the corners are all dark. A product of such low quality should not have been released to the public.
Great picture, but freezes A LOT!
i've had this tv about 2 months. the picture is great, but the tv freezes a lot...especially when switching between sources inputs. i route all audio/video sources in to my yamaha rx-v565 a/v receiver, and have a single hdmi output cable to the tv. however, when switching between sources on the yamaha, the tv will freeze. i've used this yamaha receiver for years with other samsung tvs and never had this problem until i this one. the only way i've found to recover the "frozen" tv (without pulling the plug) is to hold the power button on the remote for about 3-5 seconds. that will sort reboot the tv. this is very annoying to have to do every single day! i have the latest firmware, but still the issue persists. samsung, please fix this!!

Pretty much the worst tv experience
the good- the bad- darkest picture ever. cant adjust it enough to see people when its a low light setting audio- doesnt stay connected to bluetooth soundbar from same brand picture- randomly has blue light/tint that covers the whole tv. cant read or see anything until it randomly goes away lag- lags like an early 2000's computer with viruses. click any button on the remote and wait 5 seconds or until it spazzes out and goes into a random app or some animal documentary
Bloop: I am very sorry you have experienced multiple issues with your TU7000 TV. I understand your frustration and disappointment. There are several troubleshooting steps you can take to improve your experience. 1) Please be sure to download and install the latest firmware which improves Bluetooth connection and addresses the color glitch issue. Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit. You may want to enable automatic updates for conveniences. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update. If you would like to update your software using USB, please check for the latest version on the Samsung website Please be sure to reset the TV after it has been updated by either unplugging the AC for 20 seconds (or) pressing and holding the power butting until the TV turns off then back on. 2) To address your lag issue, you may want to run the self-diagnosis tool. This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care 3) Samsung is aware of the issue of scenes appearing too dark, and a new firmware update will be released soon to address this issue. Please follow the steps in (1) to keep your firmware current. I hope these tips help. Buyer Beware!
I bought my tv in January 2021. Mid July 2022, i came home to a black and blue screen. I've tried all of the different restart and/or hard start procedures and was successful twice but goes right back to the same re-cycle blue & black screen. I've never purchased a tv that has went out in n a little more than a year of having it!
Hi, Disappointed in Illinois, Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU700D TV and for sharing your experience with your TV not displaying properly. Please try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. If any external devices are connected, check all input cable connections. 2. If the issue persists, define precisely what is wrong with the display. 3. Try changing channels using the remote control. Is the issue the same on all channels? 4. Press the Home button (looks like a house), select Source, and choose another input source. Is the issue the same on all sources? 5. If the same problem persists, run a diagnostic test. (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test) 6. If the problem disappears during the test, check your TV signal (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information) to check the signal strength. The signal strength must be more than 20 dB (more than 4 bars on the icon) for stable signal reception Should your issue persist, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website. ~ Samsung Advisor
Shame on you Samsung
This TV is the biggest piece of junk and im appalled that Samsung would release a product like this. I started experience issues in less than a year of owning and now not even 4yrs later, the TV stopped working. The night before my wife and I are watching a movie and the next day it doesn't turn on anymore. Screen is black, no sound and sounds like there's a mouse screeching in it when I hit the power button. Appears that the power board has gone out. Totally unacceptable and disappointed that Samsung would release a piece of junk like this. I'll never purchase another TV by Samsung.
