Thanks for your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve. With our JBL Flip Essential 2, source devices (phones, tablets, etc.) all behave a bit differently. Some have very loud outputs, and some can be quite a bit lower, even at maximum volumes. You may try to use an equalizer on your music application to adjust the volume to your preference. Additionally, our JBL Flip Essential 2 has up to 10 hours of battery life. This may vary depending on volume and music content. Thanks for your feedback. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help isolate the issue with your JBL Flip Essential 2. First, put your unit in pairing mode, then enable Bluetooth on the source device. Next, find the unit on the Bluetooth list and select it. If this does not solve the problem, you will need to do a reset and manually re-pair again. To reset, turn on the speaker, press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" for more than 3 seconds. The speaker will turn off, and reboot to factory default. You may need to 'forget' the speaker in the Bluetooth settings on your phone/tablet to pair it again.
