Lovely sharp knives

These knives are pretty great. Came sharp and seem to hold their edge well. Handles are comfortable, and the blade hasn't stained yet. Definitely be careful - got a small cut brushing the back of a finger against the blade grabbing utensils off the drying rack!

Great addition to knives set!

This pair of knives is perfect! It has a perfect grip for when cutting meat. The grip helps it keep from slipping, and the blade is very sharp. The only thing that I would like for it to have is a cover for the blade. Having kids and loose knives in the drawer is not ideal other than that they’re perfect.

Two great santoku knives

First off, I'm no chef. But I tend to enjoy cutting up fruit and vegetables in my non-chef-like way. And the kind of knife I love using is a santoku knife. I already had 2 others before getting these, but they were smaller ones. I anticipate these becoming the ones I use most because of their size, handle, and sharpness. As you know, this is a 2-pack of 7 inch santoku knifes. Do I need 2 of the same size? Probably not. But it is nice to have 2 around in case you're needing to prepare different types of foods and don't want to have to clean the knife between them. Like, for instance, if you're needing to cut up meat and vegetables. Honestly though, I don't know that I need two. That's one of the only negatives that I was able to come up with for this product - that you get 2 and may not need them both. The other negative that I came up with is a bit of a stretch, but because it is so big, it can be unnecessarily big for cutting smaller fruits and vegetables. Aside from all of that, I love these knives. Admittedly, I haven't had them long, so I don't know how resilient they'll be or how frequently they may need to be sharpened. But the handle is comfortable and the blade is nice and sharp. It slides right through tougher vegetables, and also glides smoothly through gentler fruit like when slicing tomatoes. I tend to freeze bread and wind up having butt ends to the loaves that are too wide to fit into the toaster; yet I was able to quickly and easily cut a frozen butt end of a loaf of bread into neat slices as well. I'd personally recommend these knives as long as you can get them at a good price. They seem to be a good enough quality, very sharp, versatile, and with comfortable grips.

Great value! Just wash before use.

I really like these knives! I feel this is a great value to get 2 good knives essentially for the price of one. I've used them on tomatoes, scrapple, and a pineapple already and they sliced through each one like butter. It's tough to find a knife that works so well to cut the hard skin off a pineapple and this did not struggle one bit! It also didn't squish the tomato and sliced through very cleanly. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is because they arrived to me very dirty. Yes, I always wash anything before it comes in contact with food, but the dirt on the handles after taking them out of the shipping box is just unappealing. The rubber the handles are made of is a very grippy material, which allows the dirt to stick fast - you physically have to scrub them under soap and water. It's not just a dust that wipes right off. I'm sure this is due to the open packaging design - my suggestion would be to add a piece of clear plastic over the open window in the packaging to prevent this. However, overall I am happy with the actual knives themselves and do recommend purchasing these! Just be ready to wash them very well once you get them home.

Great Grip

Great grip was my 1st reaction! These knives come very sharp and are great for a big project. I wanted to wait until I had something tough to cut, and I actually used them to cut through card board to test sharpness. Once dull, I resharpened and the cuts were consistent!!

Great addition to your kitchen prep tools!

The Member’s Mark Santoku slicing knives are a great addition to your kitchen prep tools. The blades are super sharp and dish washer safe (though ideally knives shouldn’t go in the dishwasher I find myself more often than not putting them on the top shelf). The weight of the knife feels great in your hand, and the handle is easy to grip / easy to hold.

Good knife.

This Santoku knife all and all does it's job and does it well. I have used it on a number of produce such as carrots, onions, and even dragon fruit and pineapple. The grip is comfortable the the whole motion of cutting is smooth and fluid. I haven't used it on any meats yet so I cannot speak to that however the only real downside is lack of some sort of blade cover. Obviously the set doesn't come with or belong with a block but it would be nice if they had some sort of cover or guard included. It is by no means a deal breaker.

Nice blade, handle not so much

I was so excited for these knives. The blades were really nice and I loved the shape. My husband is a chef so he’s a little more pickier than me but the bosses did not disappoint. The only criticism I have is the handle. It’s too hard and not comfortable. The hard plastic makes it difficult to grip especially when wet. I could tell they tried to make it comfortable with the different grooves and bumps but still no such luck.

Low price high quality

I was looking for a quaality knife that would not break the bank to use on my blackstone. I got these to try them out and I am sure glad i did. They are very affordable and great quality. I wanted something to hold up while cooking and these do great. Would definitely recommend

Great knife for this price point

The Member's Mark 7" Santoku Slicing Knife set is a great set for the price point. These knives have a nice weight to them & seem sturdy. They are easy to clean & have a textured handle for extra safety. Not to mention 2 knives for less than $15 how can you really go wrong?! The only thing I would have liked to have been included is knife sheathing/cover for storage safety but, that is just a personal preference. I used these as soon as I received them to prep a couple of pork butts for the smoker & it made that task a breeze.
