This is my first AC unit, my sister recommended GE Smart unit. I bought it to cool a normally warm room. I love the fact that I can turn it on before I leave work through the app and the master bedroom is nice & cool. It also helps keep my Utility bill down.

This is a great unit for the money!!! It’s quite enough, I like the white noise at night, I don’t hear the rest of the house.... keeps the room nice n chilly when needed!!! The app control is amazing!!! Can turn on the unit no matter where I am or set a schedule!!!!

I've been running this window unit for almost 2 months now for my studio that I share with my 80 pound German Shepard/Husky pup; she doesn't do well in any kind of warm environment so this unit is almost always running. With the built-in Eco mode, I'm still able to curtail energy costs. Despite my relatively heavy usage, I've run into zero problems with this unit so far! Aside from doing it's intended job well, this unit comes with Wi-Fi features that allow you to control with via the GE Appliances app from your mobile device after a one time pairing to your network. Another awesome add-on is the included remote control (which I probably use more than my phone) which has a magnetic backing, something I personally found extremely convenient. Installation is extremely easy. I was able to install this completely by myself within an hour! If you have any prior experience, I doubt it would take much longer than 30 minutes, but this was my first unit I've ever installed and it was still very simple. For all these features, I'd expect this to be almost double the cost I paid, so that's definitely a huge plus there! One little thing that I should note is at first, this unit runs VERY quiet at first. After about a month it gets a little louder until the filter and outside are cleaned. All said and done, this unit runs much more quiet relative to other units I've used in the past!

Right out of the box, this unit (AHK08LZ) was very easy to install. The instructions showed some simple steps to follow for attaching the upper window track and the side panels. Since this was a 8000 btu unit, I got some help to lift it in place and lower the window into place. After sliding the side panels and locking them, it was an easy startup. The unit is running very well and cooling my garage. I especially like the delay feature which automatically turns off the unit after a set period.

The aircon works great and keeps me cool in texas heat. But the biggest bug is the wifi connection, it connects for a day or two but errors pop up and I can't turn it on with my phone. I might as well have just gotten the cheaper unit. Would have done the same job for less money.

Our ac went out and being in South Texas in the summer you need ac! The price is great! I thought oh it has wifi I probably won't use it. Surprisingly the wifi is useful, when I leave for work and forget to change the temp higher I use my phone and can change it when I'm at work. Or if you'd like to set a schedule to have the temp change at certain times of the day you can do that as well thanks to the wifi and app.

Nice a/c will save us a lot seeing as we were cooling our whole house and only sleeping in one room. Plenty of cooling power for our room, only downside is that it’s a little louder than central air but will just have to move bed further away from it.

Decent value and love the WiFi enabled features. Install wasn’t too bad but would have preferred not to have the need to make screw holes into my window. The Auto fan mode does seems to work very well and temperature in room often goes above the set temperature.

Needs to have a remote room temp sensor. The sensed temp (inside the unit) works ok if its running but if fan off (in econo mode) the sensed temp is not even close to the room temp and the unit doesn't come on as you would expect. Recommend with a "?" because of that feature

This unit is wonderful and just what we needed for our apartment bedroom. The unit is pretty quiet as far as air conditioners go, and works great. WIFI access remotely is great. You can turn the unit on and off, adjust temps, check electricity usage and more. This was very easy to install and secure. Couldn’t be happier with the unit and it’s functions.
