worked ok for the first 23 months.

We bought the unit July 2021. It comes with a 1 year warranty. , the unit experienced a" catastrophic failure" - GE's definition of code 88, when It stopped working early July 2023. We only ran it during hot months. It was difficult to set up the wifi, but finally got it going with the help of ge support. So, you may need to replace it every 2 years... just be aware.

Not sure if I purchased a lemon or what.

I bought this in April, it was installed in a 275 Sq foot room with nothing covering it and already it is unable to cool the room. I barely notice any cold air coming from the unit when it's on now. I find this highly unacceptable, considering it is only 5 months old and is cooling a room smaller than the recommended space. I live in south west PA so it shouldn't have been over taxed so quickly either.

Stopped working

I purchased this 09/2020 for my daughter’s room. It was working fine, it has stopped working. It only blows warm air and the buttons will not change. Who do I need to call the fix or replace the issue? I thought we had a great air conditioner but turns out it is not so great!!! Help!!

Hi - we are so sorry that your air conditioner suddenly stopped working so soon in its lifespan and that the buttons themselves will not even change. This is incredibly frustrating and it's not something we would expect with this unit. Didn't last 1 month

Awful. GE Customer service is a joke. This is the 2nd GE air that has gone out in 45 days. Both different models. This one didn't last a month. Error codes blink, say 88, change filter, wifi, and air turns off. Tried all possible troubleshooting. Multiple videos online with other people having the exact same issue. Note to buyer, it's a lemon.

Died after three months

When it was working it did a great job at cooling. Unfortunately, after about three months the unit stopped cooling. Prior to the cooling issues, it sounded like there was a snowball/ice fight inside the unit. Not a nice sound to wake up to at 3 AM.

Spits out water to my room

bought this unit on 4/16/22. First of all you can even change the direction of theair flow. No matter what you do it blow air same direction. All of sudden yesterday 5/20/22 it stareted spitting out water out of this AC to my room. It is full of water. Great unit that should existed !

Hi there, and thanks for reporting this to us. We truly hate to hear you’ve had a concern with the air flow, and are now having an issue with water spraying. We know issues like those must be frustrating to deal with, and we regret any inconvenience caused. Regarding the direction of the air flow, we did design the model with 4-way adjustable louvers to distribute air evenly throughout the space – we have information on adjusting the air direction on page 7 of the manual. If you’d like to view that manual, you can do so on our GE Appliances website by looking up the model number and going to the product page. For the water issue, while water dripping or spraying to the outside is normal, we don’t expect the model to spray water into your room. You may want to check the air filter as well as the overall unit to make sure it’s clean - care and cleaning instructions are also available on page 7. The unit should be installed so it’s level or titled slightly to the outside, to allow proper drainage. If it’s tilted slightly into the room, we do have installation instructions on page 8 of the manual that might be useful. We hope this information helps, but if you’re unable to solve these issues information on the warranty is on page 17. Not Good

We have had this brand new air co sit-up we running for two days this week, and all light started flashing, and it would shut down. When attempting to restart it, the same thing would happen. Cleaned the filter, but continues to do the same thing. VERY FRUSTRATED.

Bad after 10 months

First season of service was great. Made cool air quick and was easy to install. Re-installed it for the second season of use and now only it beeps then cycles power off and on again. Called GE since it was still barely under warranty and they are sending me a Goodwill statement and will reimburse me up to the original amount for a new GE unit.
