Hi Set up, thank you for taking the time to review your Defender 4K. I am sorry to see that you are not 100% satisfied with the system. All of our manuals, as well as helpful how-to videos, are found in our support section at www.defendercameras.com. While the 4K does not come equipped with audio, you can purchase a microphone with RCA connections from a third party. The microphone connects to the back of the DVR and is run to the area in which you want to hear sound. It is important to note that the DVR will not record audio but you will be able to hear the audio while in Live View on the monitor connected to the DVR.
