Great TV

Once the delivery guys found us, for 'plug & play', this basically meant putting the stand on and plugging it into the wall. I struggled to set it up as there are so many options. I checked various youtube videos and called LG as I was totally confused. 2 weeks on and we are happy as the telly is exceptional.

Disappointing

there are unfortunately quite alot of issues with this particular TV , I should have had a demonstration before I purchased it no operating manual , no HDMI input button on the remote as for the remote I keep getting a pointer when I want to change channels ,no Dolby Vision /Atmos badges on the screen . I have learned most of the workings of the TV from you tube , Ive feel I have wasted 1k and thetre are more issues . I wish I had not bought this TV .

Less than a week in...

Less than a week owning the TV. The image is excellent. The webOS is all a little new yet but this is my first new TV for over a decade. Installation problems: despite connecting TV to the Web with WiFi and wired, the TV failed to find its User License Agreements - a common problem after checking forums - meaning many webOS services were restricted. Updated the TV, no joy. Attempted connecting to mobile hot-spot, nope. Anyway, they appeared magically overnight after leaving the TV connected to the WiFi. If you're hear presenter with the same problem, just sleep on it 🙂. The other issue currently is the mobile app won't connect to the TV, despite the TV recognising its attempts (TV dutifully shows me a connection code on screen when the mobile apps loaded, but the mobile app is blissfully unaware). This still hasn't worked, something about the TV only working on a 2ghz wireless signal I read, but I won't be losing any sleep over it - which is what fixed the other issue! Sort it out LG. Pictures lovely though! On to week two...

Two man job to hang on wall, especially with the sound bar attached, making it more heavier. Easy to set up, great picture quality, comes with some apps installed, had a problem going to app store at first, couldn’t down load but got there in the end, also the hands free Alexa control is a bit random, sometimes it works, sometimes no dice, could be I’m doing something wrong But hey very pleased for discount price and a top of the range sound bar and woofer thrown in.

Love our new LG OLED TV. It was very easy to set up even for a couple of technophobes like us! Fantastic picture quality which is perfect whether you are a few inches away or across the room. 65" Oled evo - Out of the box settings, picture are way off !!! Very disappointed at first, paying all that money and the picture on my old TV was better. But, after a lot of searching on Youtube, I have managed to get a perfect picture on standard Sky transmission. On day 4, picture is perfect, i do feel that daily TV updates has helped this.

Good quality TV with excellent clarity and visuals however slightly complicated to set up the audio out via digital optical to theatre system. It is a shame the rear of the TV panel is so poorly finished and gives the impression of being cheaply finished exhibiting a very cheap and poor appearance.

Superb picture but marred by indifferent software.

This OLED TV has a superb display and lots of options for accessing streaming services, but getting to grips with the software and settings is not easy - no manuals are provided and the two available from the LG web site give no information about day-to-day operation of the TV. An "LG WebOS" guide would be useful! Another issue is that the software is perpetually asking for the user to agree to the terms & conditions for using voice commands and other features; there's no visible way of turning these nags off, and personally I refuse to grant permission for unknown advertisers to record and use any voice input in my living room in any way they choose. I advise any users of LG TVs to read the terms and conditions for all these agreements in detail (it may take some time but is quite an eye-opener) rather than click the button that simply accepts them all. Another nag that interferes with normal viewing is the pop-up that asks whether I wish to switch on a HDMI device which it thinks has come on-line, even if LG's SimpLink CEC connection system is disabled. As 2 of my 4 HDMI devices appear to have a live connection to HDMI even when they are turned off (but not unplugged) the nag appears quite often and I've yet to find a way of stopping it without pulling out plugs. In summary, LG needs to seek advice from real users, not teenage geeks, and make their software more user-friendly. It's a shame that what could be a brilliant TV is marred by what I consider to be over-complex operating software.

Great TV, Horrible EULA policy

Couldn’t be more pleased (minus their EULA policy). Beautiful picture, great gaming features including the 1440p option at 120Hz. This tv offers all the options I was looking for. I wish AirPlay was more compatible. But my only real complaint is that you are given NO CHOICE about accepting most of their EULA’s which is ridiculous. Especially if you have no interest in things like ‘LG Channels’ and ‘voice command’.. thankfully after accepting them you can go back and revoke your permission. BUT beware you will get a MASSIVE bar in the middle of your screen every so often, insisting you accept the EULA and it won’t go away until you do. Making you repeat the cycle. TBH if I knew about this hassle I would bought from another brand
