The LG "C" OLED TV's just get better and better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a number of LG OLED TV's over the years from the CX, C1,G2 etc and now the C4. Every iteration seems to have a bump up in quality and functionality, which you only realise you need when you get the opportunity to see it in person! This new C4 range has exquisite picture quality and i am currently using it without a soundbar and i have been pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. TV is sitting on its stand on a TV Media unit, unit is sturdy and looks simple but elegant. May look to wall mount in the future and looks easy enough. When you go to an OLED you quite quickly notice the quality of the picture, in particular the contrast from the deep blacks to the vibrant colours. This is even more evident with this latest generation of OLED's from LG. Highly recommend!

Lovely TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV is very light and slim. there is a very nice finish on the back though we won't see it as we have ours wall mounted. It is very easy to access all of the platforms that we subscribe to because the interface is very good. The picture quality is superb with lovely bright and colourful images. There are many picture presets and we tend to use FILMMAKER mode for everything and Cinema home for HDR. The Dolby Vision FILMMAKER mode is a nice touch but I am unsure if I prefer it or Cinema. It is great to have so many choices. the sound is also surprisingly good. We will wall mount a soundbar at some point but there is no rush as the sound is quite enjoyable. The remote control is the same model that we have used for a few years so it is nice to not have to learn a new remote. It has a nice shape and works very well. I am glad that LG haven't changed it. Back to the picture quality, it makes everything look very good. We don't usually watch anything that is not at least 1080P but on the occasions when we do, the picture is surprisingly good. The best pictures that we have seen are via our 4k Blu Ray player. The picture is absolutely stunning. HDR is very effective - much better than the internal apps but that is to be expected from 4K Blu Ray. Setup takes a long time but then most of that is spent filling in the Login details for all of our subscriptions. The basic TV set up is very straight forward and LG's instructions are very clear. The same picture settings as on previous years' TVs are a great starting point so that is what we always start with. This 65 inch set is superb and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

LG’s C4 - An Excellent OLED TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG C4 is a wonderful TV that arrives well packaged with a stand mount for those not wall mounting. Unlike LG’s G-series, which lacks this solution, the C4 includes it. The back of the TV features a speckled, brown-grey texture, adding elegance to my setup. The bezels are incredibly thin, enhancing the immersive experience. I encountered a minor setup issue where the wizard wouldn’t load the terms and conditions, and skipping didn’t work. After five minutes, I restarted the TV and used the LG ThinQ app, which, combined with the Magic Remote, streamlined the setup. Adjusting picture settings makes the TV shine, with Filmmaker mode being the most accurate out of the box. Disabling some EU-mandated energy-saving settings further boosts brightness, with warnings about increased power consumption, common across all brands. The image quality is stunning, with the OLED panel delivering infinite contrast blacks and vibrant colors. Motion handling shows LG’s investment in image processing. Although image burn-in is a concern, improvements and features like pixel shifting help alleviate fears. My previous LG OLED suffered screen burn after six years, so I hope this model fares better. Smart home features are extensive, with all major subscription packages available within the webOS software. Navigation is fast, and the Magic Remote offers gyroscopic control and traditional buttons. Physical connectivity is ample, with four HDMI 2.1 ports. The C4 supports Dolby Vision and 120Hz 4K for gamers, working seamlessly with my PS5. Sound quality is as expected from a slim panel, with average bass, mids, and highs. Investing in a soundbar is recommended. The TV remote lives up to its ‘Magic’ name, offering the best on the market with voice control and pointer mode. A downside is the screen’s reflectivity, causing glare in bright rooms. The C4’s brightness is a significant upgrade, with the LG G-series as its main competitor. Another negative is the advertisements within the operating system, which are distracting and unnecessary in such an expensive device. Overall, the LG C4 is a fantastic TV likely to serve well for years, with LG continuing to raise the bar in TV development.

A Gamer's Dream Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a tech-savvy student of computer game development, I'm constantly on the lookout for immersive experiences. My quest for the perfect home entertainment system led me to the 65-inch LG OLED evo C4 4K Smart TV, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Here's a breakdown of what makes this TV a winner: The OLED technology truly shines here. Blacks are deeper than a moonless night, while colors explode with vibrancy. Details are razor-sharp, whether you're scrutinizing the intricate stitching on a character's costume or spotting a hidden easter egg in your favorite game. This level of detail makes every scene feel incredibly lifelike. For gamers like myself, the C4 is a dream come true. The 4K resolution paired with the 144Hz refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth gameplay without a hint of lag. Fast-paced action sequences feel incredibly responsive, giving you a competitive edge. Plus, features like Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync eliminate screen tearing, making your gaming experience even smoother. While the C4 excels at gaming, it's not a one-trick pony. Movie nights take on a whole new level with the C4's stunning visuals. Dolby Vision support ensures movies are displayed with the director's intended colors and contrast, creating a truly cinematic experience at home. Even regular TV shows benefit from the C4's picture quality, making them feel more immersive and engaging. The Verdict: An Investment Worth Making The LG OLED evo C4 4K Smart TV isn't the cheapest option on the market. But for those who crave the absolute best in picture quality, immersive experiences, and cutting-edge gaming features, it's an investment worth making. It takes home entertainment to a whole new level, transforming your living room into a portal to stunning visuals and unforgettable experiences.

Another knockout OLED TV from LG

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a long term owner of LG OLED TV's (C7, C1, G2 and now this C4), I can confidently say that LG have done it again. The only real issue with these OLED TV's is that they make any other TV look broken in comparison! The killer feature is the absolute black levels and picture quality, but LG also knock it out of the park in terms of features and interface. Four full speed 2.1 HDMI inputs, all the wireless inputs you would want. The best App availability and HDR picture compatibility of any manufacturer. The promise of long term OS updates is a feature that could easily be overlooked, but is going to give the G4 excellent longevity. Any negatives? Adverts should not be turned on by default on the home screen - but all brands pull tricks like that. It's approaching 10 years of the same remote design and it's not the most premium looking thing given that it is for a top tier TV.

Amazing Quality

After using this for a week I am really amazed by its quality. This TV integrates seamlessly with smart home devices, with Alexa and Google Assistant built-in, making it easy to control with your voice. The design is another highlight. The thin bezel gives it a modern look, and even though it’s a 77-inch screen, it doesn’t feel bulky. The picture quality is excellent The combination of Quantum Dot and NanoCell technology really brings the colors to life, they’re vibrant and rich, and the brightness is impressive, even in a bright room. The Full Array Local Dimming does wonders for contrast, making dark scenes look deep and realistic. While it’s not quite at OLED-level for the absolute darkest blacks, it’s really close. The 4K UHD resolution ensures everything is super sharp, especially when watching 4K content on streaming. Even standard HD channels look better than they did on my old TV, thanks to the excellent upscaling. The HDR support adds even more depth to the visuals, making bright and dark scenes pop. Switching between apps, live TV, and inputs is smooth and intuitive, and the magic remote with its point-and-click feature makes it even simpler. It supports Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode and both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync. Gaming has been a dream, no lag, smooth graphics, and stunning visuals in 4K with HDR. Overall, is an excellent TV that offers high-end features without being overly complicated. Whether you’re watching movies, gaming, or streaming shows, it delivers outstanding performance. The picture quality is fantastic, the interface is smooth, and the ability to connect Bluetooth headphones is a big plus. If you’re looking for a TV that’s easy to use and performs exceptionally well, I highly recommend it.

Another top OLED TV from LG

Having owned one of LGs OLED TVs before I had an expectation that this new LG C4 OLED would be of a high quality but the step up and development over the last few years has been larger than I expected. This is really a top TV built to last a long time with a range of smart features built in. The set up of the TV is straight forward, minimal steps are required if you are using the stand, and the TV itself has a really user- friendly set up process, this guides you through user creation, picture, sound, network and streaming services. Within around 15 minutes I had set up my internet connection, signed into a host of streaming services and set up a picture profile. The TV looks very impressive, with small bezels around the edges and it does feel very much like a giant photo frame. The only slight negative is the stand, for such a large set I think a wider stand would look better, this is still fine and more personal preference. The controller is the same as many other LG’s, it is effective and simple to use with quick buttons for streaming sites such as Netflix, Prime video, Disney+ and more. If there was one downside I would say the back has a really shiny plastic and from past experience I know this scratches super easy. Not a major issue but considering the price and quality of the TV, the controller doesn’t quite match that standard. The picture quality of the TV is the real stand out. OLED TV’s always have amazingly deep black tones, and this is exactly the same with brilliant contrast. However, where this improves on previously OLED’s is the brightness, it is considerably brighter than my previous LG OLED. Allowing for better viewing, deeper contrasts and improved range of colour. Another area of improvement is the sound, this is by no means better than a sound bar or dedicated setup, however it has far greater range than previous LG TV’s and also to me seems to get much louder. The TV has a raft of built in features such as Chromecast, which is great as my partner uses a fitness app and can now cast directly to the TV without needing a dongle. LG’s webOS operating system has developed over time and again is very simple to use, with a row of your apps which can be customised to your needs. Overall, I am very pleased with this TV, Watching films and TV has never looked so good, with improved sound and all the feature proof features you will need for many years to come. I would highly recommend .

LG C4

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly the packaging was well designed. i was replacing the very first LG CX. It was very smooth sailing so far, after completeing the setup it was time to turn the TV on. They have made it so somply now to get started with the TV and activate everything with your phone. my first reaction was the screen quality, its a big improvement the colours are super rich and the blacks are strong. The AI setup they have now integrated on the TV is amazing helps map out the correct screen setting for you. was very impressed with the speed of the TV, the upgraded CPU has clearly done the job , loading apps like Netflix was very quick and now with the support of Dolby vision and Atmos the picture and sound was incredible. by far this is the best screen so far its extremely clear and the sound is amazing. i have recommended this to few friends after they have seen the screen and no doubt this is on there shopping list.
