The cetaphil foaming cleansers are my favorite. I have been using these cleansers for many years after my dermatologist recommended them to me. They are very gentle and clean well. No dry or tight skin afterwards. One of my favorite drug store items. Would recommend.

Now, although I found Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleaner to be very effective and gentle, it is not my favorite cleaner. It only foams as it comes out of the container, it seems like it dissolves as I wash. I would have liked for the cleanser to foam up as I wash my face. The cleanser is very light and it rinses cleanly. It doesn't leave any residue. And even though it is a gentle cleanser, it washes and cleans my face very thoroughly. It's not my favorite, but I still like this cleanser.

I was excited to try this foaming cleanser; however, it might be TOO gentle because it didn't remove my makeup. I tried washing with two pumps and could barely get it to lather in my hands even though we have soft water. I then tried again with 10 pumps and my makeup (foundation and mascara) still wasn't coming off. The Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub finally did the trick. I tried the cleanser again for two more days and had the same problem. It worked ok in the morning before applying makeup, but my skin didn't feel as refreshed as it did with the scrub.
