i have always bought wright's thick cut bacon at sam's club but decided to try the member's mark version. that was a mistake. this bacon is pumped up with so much water that it takes forever to boil it off. and then it does not even taste like bacon. just another failed member's mark product. looks like sam's is not going to carry wright's bacon anymore.

if you purchased the hormel bacon bits before sams discontinued them in lieu of the MM brand, you will understand this comment, and why i no longer buy my bacon bits at sams. some slices are 3/8" thick, some are 1/4" thick, some are 1/8" thick. some are 3/8" thick on one end and 1/8" thick on the other. when you cook these using the oven and cookie sheet method, some shrink up to less than half their size. some almost try to disappear. i'm going back to wright and pay more. until sams discontinues them.

I sampled this bacon at Sams club and was unimpressed. I was worried when it showed up if they were trying to get rid of Wrights. And at my store Wrights is not in stock anymore. Members mark bacon is substandard. It has a finish, and surprisingly for members mark, it is not super oversalted, but has no body of flavor. Wrights bacon has a complex flavor, perfect saltiness, and great finish. Members Mark is just lacking on all three, but the main is that it lacks complexity. It will not add to your recipes' flavor profiles.

I bought this recently instead of a different brand I usually get and it was terrible. How can bacon not taste good? I've never ever bought any bacon, store brand or other that did not have good flavor. Since it was a 2 pack, now I'm stuck using the other pack.

Most of the time, I love this bacon. Perfect thickness, perfect flavor. Cooked in a 350 connection oven, it's the perfect mix of chewy meat and crispy fat. Just the right amount of smoke and salt. But then... every once in a while, you get a package that was obviously cut from the laziest, fattest, most pampered pig on the farm. I was really looking forward to a BLT, but this morning I opened a package that was 85% fat. It's really inedible unless you're looking to slam your arteries shut. I'm laid up, so for now, I get my groceries delivered. Otherwise, this never would have made it into my cart. If this app allows, I'll post a pic. It's worth buying. Just check it carefully.
