Ad states "Kick up some dirt with the Firestone Destination X/T on- and off -road tires...you can depend on these tires to take you anywhere because tough terrains require an even tougher tire." Do let that fool you. The first time I took these tires off road, I had some minor chunking. The people I was with (all experienced off roaders) noted how my new tires were chunking in the Arizona sand. The next time I took them off road, they chunked a little more. This last trip, I was the only one to suffer any tire damage out of the three of us and was the only one running Firestone's. I had a front sidewall chunk that was almost to the plies and a pinhole in the sidewall that required a plug. Yes, you shouldn't plug a sidewall, but I had no choice as my rear tire also had a pinhole in the tread and I only had one spare with me. This was the first day of a seven-day trip. I ended up being towed up a couple of obstacles because the other people were afraid of me blowing another tire. We were saving my spare for the road trip home. Granted I am running LT275/55/20 E tires at full air pressure due to the small sidewall, but I expected more from these tires. Very disappointed in a premium tire that I will have to replace at least two of them with less than 5,000 miles on them. I'm thinking of just switching brands and replacing all five tires. On road, they were great. A little sidewall flex in winding mountains but nothing bad. Quiet. Good grip. We've had record lack of rain in the 6 months that I've had the tires, so I don't really have much of an opinion on wet handling. The one time it did rain, they handled it fine. I really thought I made a good choice as Firestone is a premium tire manufacture and these weren't cheap. Too bad that I'll probably dump them as only two of the five tires I could even hope to get a couple of bucks for.

I very recently drove from Texas to Maine with my 2006 Chevy Silverado WT. Extended cab, long bed, 5300 lbs, and a new set of Firestone Destination X/T tires. I was a little concerned before leaving. The tread is pretty aggressive and I wasn't sure how well it would do at interstate highway speeds and hurricane torrential rain coming through the southeast. The tires were great at highway speed and a number of slower passage muddy, heavy run off water detours. They also navigated some heavy road construction with rough lanes and uneven surfaces. They did have a slight hum at speed, but the ride quality was surprisingly good. They looked like new after the first 2,200+ miles.

I have a 2018 Chevy 2500 HD 4WD PU with the Duramax engine. Use this vehicle to pull our 5th wheel trailer (about 13,000 pounds) and our boat (about 1,500 pounds). Use the truck for on-road and off-road travel. 40,000 miles on tires, of that 12,500 were pulling our 5th wheel. Rotate about every 5,000 miles, have had the tires rebalanced twice and the front end realigned once since bought the tires. At 40,000 I am replacing them, 3/32 of tread on two tires and 5/32 on other two, likely due to the more worn tires being on rear when pulling trailer more often. Live in a mountain valley at high elevation so 3-Peak rating was important at initial purchase. Tires have worn evenly. While not as quite as a highway tire, for an "aggressive" all terrain tire they are quiet and provide a comfortable ride. Noise has increased some as tires have become more worn. Traction in all situations I have been in, (dry, wet, snow, ice, mud, gravel/rock) has been everything I expected. While I wish we had gotten closer to the 50K warranty tread life, I am satisfied enough with the tread life we got given how we use this vehicle that I am buying another set. I have driven over 1,000 miles on them and am very pleased so far.Mostly gravel roads and prarie trails with some highway. They are holding up nicely to the gravel. Have not done any snow driving yet as it's been dry here, I think they will do just fine.

I want to say how disappointed I was to find out how loud these tires are. I read the reviews and they said they were quiet. They are not quiet! I had BF KO2 tires before and they are quiet. I cheeped out and went for the XLTs what a mistake. I have to live with these for 2 years. You get what you pay for.

Purchased Destination X/Ts to replace the original Goodyear Wranglers. The difference in road performance between the two is night and day. Regardless of weather conditions, and in Wisconsin that means rain, sleet, snow, and ice, the XTs perform flawlessly. They really grab the road when Mother Nature decides it's time for weather! They have a touch more road noise than the AT/2s we have on our other vehicle, but they are actually a low noise tire. Lastly, the XTs have somewhat of an aggressive look to them, but not over-the-top. They actually look really cool! So happy with my X/Ts and highly recommend them!!!!

Terrible ride and noisy. Took back to have auto select Analyze them, they told us it was our U joints and drive shaft . Had 3 different shops and diesel mechanics look at truck. Replaced U joints, had drive shaft balanced, still same ride and noise in truck. Had truck analyzed again and all comes back to the tires after everything else has been fixed. Will not go back to auto select and will not buy another Firestone tire. Had issues in the past with Firestone tires, but was told they were so much better, shame on us for believing them.

This will be my 4th set of 265/70r17 between my two 3/4 ton pickups and I plan to go bigger to see if they will impress me even more. They are amazing in deep snow mud sand and rock. And they are great on bad ice as long I kept it 55. I highly recommend these tires I put them to work every day and thru play seeing if I can get it stuck down unplowed roads. I hope they make these tires forever because I believe and trust these tires more than an other and will continue to buy them.

The Destination XT tires seem to have a entirely different but satisfying feel as far as traction and ride go. They do great in the rain. I haven't encountered snow or ice yet but I'm sure they will do great. My only wish is that all sizes were available with with white wall lettering. I was alittle disappointed once I realized there were no white letters on the size I purchased.

Bought these tires less than a year ago. And they are falling apart. Huge chunks of the tread ripping apart and just random cuts through the tread blocks. I've had lots of truck tires. Figured I'd give these a shot and regret buying them should of stuck with the cooper's. Drive 12000 miles on these and half that was towing a camper across the country and for them to be falling apart and two leaking air through the tears is just not acceptable. Firestone won't do anything since they said it's roadhazard problem. Road hazard said it's a manufacturing problem so guess I'll deal with it on my own. Wouldn't recommend them for that fact. If they fixed it from tearing apart they are decent tires.
