Olive freak

I’m an olive freak. These black olives have good flavor. Mostly firm. There is always one mushy one in every can. What’s up with that? I normally purchase sliced olives. These are whole olives. I would recommend them.

Passed the snob test

I’m a bit of an Olive snob and these were really good! I love olives but they need to have a nice texture and no bitterness. These were perfect in both counts!

Good tasting olives

They're olives. What else can I say? Taste pretty good.

Tasty but 'extra large' size is misleading

These olives are very tasty; I eat them daily. The taste is five-star but the 'extra large' size is misleading. Most of the time the size is medium to large size at best. I care more about the taste than the size, but the misleading advertisement is shameful.

Hit or Miss

I like buying the bulk pack of olives as they're a staple in my house for meals and snacks. This pack is hit or miss though. They'll go through a stretch where they are great then, like recently, the olives are harder and every can has at least a couple with pits

Not Extra-Large

Early California brand's "extra large" black olives are definitely NOT extra-large in size. If anything, they are actually smaller than other brands labeled simply as "Large." Taste is fine & they're pitted (hence at least 2 stars), but if you're looking for giant-sized black olives, look elsewhere because you won't find any in these cans.

Inconsistent quality

These olives are really hit or miss. Sometimes they are delicious and sometimes they are not great at all. This was one of the latter times. They are soft and tasteless. :(

One of the cans were spoiled in the six pack

Normally good, last 6 pack was iffy. One of the cans was rusted on the end. I wrote the company and got no reply. The can was rusted but not dented. When I opened the can the liquid was reduced from normal (can was not leaking) and the olives had turned brown from the normal black color and were spoiled. I had the throw the contents out.

Size does matter

Don't believe everything you read, because if you do, you'll be greatly disappointed. Much like whoever thought that these black olives were in any way "extra large" obviously has quite the imagination. Extra small may have been more appropriate. I bought these in hopes of stuffing them, so much for that idea and I was fool enough to have bought 2 eight packs. I guess the pice was too good to be true and it was.
