Purchased for a 12yo boy, who regularly asks for Lego throughout the year, found the build rather delicate to assemble, but was impressed overall with the manipulation capability of the plant (due to the style of bricks used internally). It looks great on the shelf and an awesome addition for any Super Mario lover!

I've rebuild this thing 3 times because it has no stability. It constantly falls apart in your hand once you get to the head of the plant. Finally got it together and moved the head to open the mouth and it quite literally fell apart. Worse Lego I have EVER built let alone had.

Ok. Full disclosure. I Love anything Nintendo. Lego is my main hobby and I was so happy when the collaboration between these two powerhouses began a few years back. I purchased the entire 1st and 2nd wave of Lego Mario sets but have become much more picky since then. In truth, those were more for collecting. As a builder, I look forward to new techniques, innovations, and the unexpected. The Lego Mario line is charming and nostalgic, and does a great job focusing on the play factor. On the flip side, the NES set is a masterpiece, and Mighty Bowser will dominate any room you put him in. These are the sets I love. When I saw the 1st image for the Piranha Plant set, I was underwhelmed. After the instructions became available online I knew I had misjudged. Having finished the build I can honestly say that this set is worth every penny. The pipe is solid, and the shaping of the leaves looks fantastic. When it came to the final assembly Petey's head, it was one of those moments when you realize that the potential for Lego system builds has reached a new level (no pun intended). When you build it and hold it in your hands, you will understand. I hope Mr.Merriam continues to provide us with these large scale builds from the Mario universe. Because I need more full size characters to bring joy into mine.

This was the first Lego kit I've built outside of the Brickheadz line, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was complex but still easy to understand instructions and I love the end result. The articulation of the Piranha Plant is the best part of this so I can pose it in different ways!

Was excited about the build becuase of the content. I thought it would make an awsome desktop ornament and it did not disapoint, the dimensions and the mobility are cool enough to keep around . My only complaint is that it is a bit top heavy and might tip over easily if on and uneven surface . But over all a 10/10

Hi Lego, I Bought this Lego set to challenge my son. I was concerned that it said 18+. I still bought it to challenge my son. He is below the age of 18. He finished it in 1 day. For a 10 year old that is pretty fast. He has done a 1500 pc set and that took him a month. Please fix this because a 10 year old can make a 18+ set in a day. He loved the set but he was proud to see that it was for 18+ but finished quickly. Thanks Lego.

The build was easy and quick (less than 2 hours). It's very realistic once finished in that it doesn't look like it's constructed from Lego, but appears more like a model. It will fool people who don't know Lego makes this set. I loved that there was a special effect at the end which makes complete sense with how the plant works in the game. This was a wonderful gift from a friend!

The piranha plant was a present from my wife. Overall the build took a couple of relaxing hours. Did not stress at all in building the plant. The instructions were easy to understand expect for a few steps. The build was fun and looks great on my desk

Great and fun build, being able to build small mechanism for the plant was really interesting. My nephew was super excited to see how the button worked to release the bottom panel. It wasn't simply just the plant, with axles, sockets, etc. this created an interesting piece to incite young minds and make for a more playable figure.

As soon as this set was first announced, I knew that I wanted it. I love the Mario series and Lego, and with the knowledge that I would never be able to afford the question Mark Block set, seeing the Lego Team making another good looking/quality Mario set at a price tag that I'd be able to afford/(not feel guilty wishing as a Christmas present), I was so excited. My one small complaint with this set is that I wish the two ball socket pieces (piece # 14704) we coloured the same green as the rest of the plants stem and leaves instead of the light bluish grey they come in. Although this is a change I wish was made, its so minor compared to how amazing the set still is that its not worth taking it down from a 5 star set in my opinion. Amazing job Lego Team for this awesome design and I can't wait to see what other amazing Mario sets you make down the line!
