Great rib eye

I did freeze it because of not having it right away. However; I did thaw it a week later & surprisingly, the quality & taste were great. I would purchase again.

Juicy and tender

The steak was a quality steak. It had a nice marbling through out and tender. I liked that The steaks were packaged individually. The steaks needed to be trimmed a little prior to cooking. I only gave it a 4 because of extra fat and the price per pound.

Grass fed beef is not my thing.

I realized after eating these steaks that I am not a fan of the taste of grass fed beef. But I do love Sam's Club regular ribeye steaks. It is a little more per pound for the regular ribeye but I prefer the taste over these.

Got a bad one

I brought these steaks home and put them into the freezer. This is the same process I always do with meats from Sam's. When I thawed them to cook a couple of weeks later I noticed an odor. My wife and I shared one of them and our daughter had the other one, which she immediately said it was bad and she couldn't eat it. It had the same smell I had smelt earlier. It was so bad she wouldn't even taste our steaks.

Honestly pretty gross

Looked great at first glance. The long shelf life should have been a red flag but tried it out for the price point and for it being a Member's Mark item. Upon opening it had that grey, old meat smell despite being bright red. (I buy groceries and go straight home if I have goods that require refrigeration. a 10 min drive or less.) I season my steaks with kinders which usually fills the room with an appetizing aroma during the cooking process. Just smelled like I was cooking old meat. Got a nice sear using stainless steel, let it rest for a min- first bite was disgusting. Being optimistic I thought maybe I just bit into a piece of tasteless fat so I cut a piece from the center. Same deal. Tasted like I was trying to mask a horrible piece of meat which was exactly the case. Tender, I'll give it that but it leaves a very unpleasant greasy mouth feel. I threw it out along with the other uncooked ribeye. Didn't have five star expectations from a $20 pack of ribeyes but geez Louise it was awful. The usual butcher packaged USDA Choice is a better option by miles.
