After several attempts at other formulas and products, the Fresh Step Extreme with Febreze seems to do the best job of odor control. I have 2 cats who use one litter box and 14 # of litter does a good job for about a week before I have to replace it with fresh.

I've almost always used the Febreze Extreme as my go-to litter choice. It has the least "litter-like" scent, and it works for a long while for the price. I have 2 cats who are both not yet a year old. Though they use the litterbox often, I notice that this litter lasts a good while without needing to be dumped and changed. Very pleased about this! Cats are expensive!

For our multi-cat household, Fresh Step still clumps great, releases well from the litterbox sides, but the odor control is just ok. No longer my main cat litter since the odor control is not perfect. I will still let people know i use this brand but it will include a "but" with the changes in the litter I dislike. Clean feet litter is still the only litter we use camping since it tracks less for our cats.

Within minutes of my cats using it the odors would overwhelm an entire room. The ability to control the smells is lost with the Febreze. So we switched to the Triple Action and are loving it. I would definitely recommend the Triple action rather than the Extream w/ Febreze

TOO MUCH DUST AND SCENT Maybe I am getting older, but I am finding it suddenly really difficult to scoop. Yes the litter clumps. But to our family it seems to turn into cement. And impossibly sticks to the litter pan. Maybe a tiny jack hammer would help. Unless I keep over 3 inches of litter in at all times, it is almost impossible to get out. I think that any claim of dust free or lower dust is really a joke. I prefer unscented litter. Even with Febreeze, my cats smell like a weird perfume. UGH We have been using Fresh Step for forever. maybe 20 years. It is probably come to a point where we will try different litters. I have tried the unscented clumping version that is the pet smart brand. It is cheaper and we like that. Otherwise it seems identical to Fresh Step. It clumps like cement and it is dusty. But at least we save some money and our cats do not smell like perfume.

I have always used Fresh step since I have 7 cats "kids". I switched to Extreme with Febreze and nobody can tell I have cats. BEST scoopable litter out there and cats prefer this over Tidycat by far. The only problem I do have, every time I wash pans and change litter, my one cat Sandy, LOVES to roll in the fresh litter, which then gets tracked all over house, since she is a long hair cat.! Then insists on kisses! Freshstep does not taste well. LOL She is addicted to the new scent, it's like catnip for her. I highly recommend all Fresh Step Litters, especially Extreme for multiple cat households. Keep Up Great Work Fresh Step!

I live in a small home so the smell of a litter box is definately noticeable if not controlled. I had tried various other brands, but this Fresh Step with Febreze is just amazing! I smell nothing at all, even if the litter box is full!!! Though it says extreme it is not an overpowering smell that would be harsh for my kitten and she really took to it as well!! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to eliminate any litter box odors that may linger.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a 14 lb box of the Fresh Step Extreme in the Mountain Spring scent. I have 3 cats in my home and we have 2 litter boxes. I scoop the litter every day and I only notice the smell if I am right next to the box. After I scoop and add the new litter there is no smell! There is a little dust but not so much that it is a problem. It clumps very nicely which is a plus for me!
