Lightweight box, no perfume-y smells, low dust, clumps great. Our elderly kitty is diabetic, so he pees a LOT. So clumping is super important. He's gotten super finicky in his elder years, so he won't use the box if it has any fragrance at all. This litter is purrfect for him - - and us!

Over the years I have tried other cat litter brands but I always found myself coming back to Fresh Step. Recently I started purchasing the Fresh Step Unscented and at first I was not sure how well it would cover up odors because typically I bought the scented version of Fresh Step but I have been very impressed that this unscented litter covers odors as well as the scented varieties. I am a fan and will continue to purchase.

I love this unscented version and the new package. I’ve been using the regular big bag for years and it was ok, but carrying it from box to box was inconvenient and I didn’t have the unscented version. Unscented seems to have helped my cats to stop sneezing and no watery eyes. Maybe they are sensitive to the fragrances in the other flavors of litter.

I bought this 3 days ago. I was expecting there to be no scent as per the name. It is so strongly scented that I have to hold my breath when I scoop. I have scent induced migraines, and not only do I smell it every time I walk downstairs, I also smell it every time I hold my cat. It smells like air freshener spray-disgusting. Very disappointed that I wasted my money. Just don’t do it if you are sensitive to fragrances.

I have had trouble finding a clumping litter that didn't have a sickly sweet smell to it due to it being scented. Even the ones who claimed to be unscented still had a perfume odor to it. (Even Fresh Step's "unscented" has a smell) So I was a little reluctant to try "Ultra unscented" when I first noticed it new on the shelf, but I'm glad that I did! This litter is truly unscented & it clumps great! I have the biggest litter box available (I have a Maine Coon mix kitty, so she's rather large) so I buy 2 boxes of the 14 pounds & it fills up nicely. When it starts getting low, (which takes a few weeks, I only have 1 cat) I buy another 14 pound box to add on top of the already existing litter. It stays fresh with me cleaning out the clumps & topping off the litter for a few months. After a few months, I completely dump everything out & do a complete clean of the box, & I start over again with 2 boxes of the litter. It saves money, & the box stays fresh for my sweet kitty since I'm able to clean out the clumps everyday! It is also very great at keeping the odor at bay. I was using a different litter before I found this one, & there would be quite a strong smell whenever my cat pooped, but now I barely even notice when she goes. The only complaint I have is tracking. I have a litter mat, but that doesn't completely stop it. However, compared to other brands I've tried, the tracking is manageable. TL;DR This is a great litter that clumps well, is truly unscented, & does great at eliminating odors. The litter does track some, but I've had worse tracking with other litters in the past.

Tried this for the first time and wanted to really see if it worked and it did!! I didnt scoop for an entire 7 days and there wasn't an odor at all. I am a twice per day scooper and my cats even continued to use their litter boxes with this. Great to know it works for vacation time. Thanks fresh pet!

I've been using this product since it came out due to one of my cats has bad skin allergies that we can't find out the cause of. I've "unscented" the entire house away her food to get to the bottom of these allergies with no luck. But I will persevere !!!

I am very sensitive to scents, therefore I need an unscented litter and Fresh Step unscented formulas work great without irritating either my or my kitty's noses! Plus it's easy to scoop and heavy enough that my cat does not scatter it everywhere. Really appreciate this litter which I've used for years.

Have been a loyal customer buying this product for years. Difficultly sourcing about last 6 months. Just found & bought our regular “simply unscented,” but the box was incorrectly filled with unhealthy fragrances. Yuck! Added fragrances and dyes are unhealthy for all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had bought other litter when we got our first cat but noticed she was sneezing all the time. I switched to the low dust unscented litter and the sneezing stopped! I scoop once daily and there is no odor problem at all.
