Our vet was concerned that my cat has asthma, and suggested we switch to a low dust, unscented litter. After having trouble finding good quality, inexpensive clumping litter, we settled on buying this one. While it could be a little less dusty, it is completely unscented and my cat loves it! It also does a great job of concealing odors.

It could perfectly and doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box. That is, if you have a genuine digger. Holds back any scent for days and my cats seem to like it. I've tried other brands and they didn't hold a 'stink' to Fresh Step. 100% recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have allergies to fragrences, and this is the only litter I can tolerate in the Fresh Step line. However, I strongly dislike the metal foil coating on the box--it means I can't recycle the box; such a waste!

If I could rate it zero stars I would. I've purchased Fresh Step Simply Unsented for Years. It used to have nice big granules that did'nt stick to my cat's paws. Now it looks like pure charcoal! I tried the Outstreach line and it has a LOT of charcoal but the new formula of Simply Unsented is pure charcoal. It sticks to everything and tracks everywhere. I buy four boxes at a time and had to get rid of them all. You should at least label them New Formula.

I've been using for a year now for five cats. Pros: Unscented so allergies are not at all effected, clumps well, cats are not turned away by smell of other cats using a box (I have four in the house). Cons: Box is heavy so I have it shipped from Amazon. Thus far price has been competitive.

One of my cats taught me that unscented litter really is the best, all a scent does is combine with the odors and actually makes more odor! I wish it were easier to find unscented litter, many stores don't even carry it as an option. Fresh step unscented litter does the trick to clump and trap the odor with no need for any masking scents.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought Fresh Step Ultra Unscented cat litter especially for a kitten who was coming to visit us a couple of weeks ago. For kittens I don't want a fine grain cat litter because it gets stuck in their tiny toes, I want larger grains. This litter was perfect for my kitten guest, and it was easy to sweep up after she left.

I have one cat who is VERY finicky about litter. If it smells too strong of perfume , or if he can smell the other kitty's "leavings", he refuses to use the box and goes right outside the box. As you might imagine, this has been a huge point of contention between myself and said litter princess. Until now. My other cat had some urinary issues recently, and the vet recommended using an unscented litter moving forward. Not only is this litter better for the kitty with the urinary issues, but after YEARS of the other cat going outside the littler box, he has finally accepted this litter as suitable for his highness's deposits. Now, human's review: It clumps tight for easy removal, and although unscented, does a great job of absorbing the ammonia odor. I tried a couple of other unscented brands before this one, and they are NOT all created equal. Other brands I used didn't do anything for the ammonia odor, and had to be cleaned daily, or even a couple times a day to avoid the whole space being taken over by the smell of ammonia. Personally, even though I live in a 3rd floor walk-up, I prefer this to the "Lightweight" version, because, as you can imagine, light for me to carry also means light for kitty to carry, on his paws, and all the way onto the couch, or bed, or kitchen table. I live in a studio, so anything I can do to eliminate tracking litter is important.

My household has always preferred to use low scent/unscented products whenever possible. I have found many times some brands of cat litter are so strongly scented that I think the cats find it intolerable and refuse to use the box. Having unscented litter available is a blessing!

Having cats my entire life I have used just about every litter out there. This one is the best! It's affordable, clumps extremely well so there it little to no fall out back into the pan and is less dusty than the lightweight. My kitties prefer the Unscented, but the scented ones work the same as this one.
