Smooth & soft

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think That these are great disposable razors. I've tried the 2 & 3 blades before but these are really nice and leave super soft and smooth. I usually buy refill for my razors but they are so expensive. I will switch and buy both depending on sales. These would be good to use for travel too.

Great product but needs a little tweaking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product last week and noticed right away that the aesthetic was very pleasing. There are a total of 5 blades which in turn gives a great close shave. One of the things I would tweak is maybe replacing the top plastic part above the top razor with a soap bar. I felt like the blades didn't glide easily even with the shaving cream I used. Because it didn't glide it almost felt like their was resistance if that makes any sense. Also, I prefer my handles to have a rubber/silicone overlay so it gives it the extra grip. That's my personal preference.

Smooth skin after a fast shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical to try this product as I have never used more than 3 blades in my razors but now, that the summer is already here, and I don't want to spend too much time shaving, I have enjoyed the Soleil Shine. It let's me spend less time shaving and can be reused a couple of times with the same great results.

Lasted over a Month!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had mentioned in a previous review how great the BIC Soleil Shine was working for me and that all that was left for me to evaluate was how long the blades stayed sharp. Even sitting in my shower, the razor lasted over a month! I finally replaces it with the second sample I got. It stayed sharp and didn't rust this whole time. This is important because one of the biggest barriers to my buying fancier disposable razors, as opposed to the cheap kind I can pick up for a few dollars, is that I can't justify spending a lot of money for a product that I'm going to throw away almost immediately. With this razor I don't hesitate as much to spend the money because I know it will last.

Great Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor gives a comfortable close shave leaving your skin smooth and soft. There was no razor burn or itching after shaving for me. The handle is easy to hold on to to get into those awkward places we sometimes have to shave.

Smooth as butter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always loved Bic Razors so when I had an opportunity to try these for free I jumped at the chance. Typically my disposable razors had 3-4 blades and did an OK job. But i'm a mom of 2 and shower time is no time to mess around. These 5 blades took care of business quickly and efficiently. They fit easily in my hand and have a way longer life than typical disposable razors. You need these. Moms. Wives. Everyone. GET THESE!

Great Value, But Not a Premium Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll be quite honest, I've got mixed feelings about this razor. It has a lot of great features going for it, but since I shave my legs often and have sensitive skin, it does not meet my standards for a razor, and is definitely not a premium razor as the advertising claims. At first, I loved that it came in a pack with two razors because it made me feel like I was getting more product for my money. Then later, I wondered why. Are you supposed to use one razor for each side of your body? Is one just for your armpits? Do I leave one in my shower and travel with the other one? Am I supposed to give one to a friend? I was perplexed by why there are a pair of razors. To be perfectly clear, there are two handles with a cartridge attached to each. Why would they not enclose just one handle, and two cartridges? Why do I need the extra handle? I can't remember the last time I lost a razor handle. Anyways, one handle is yellow, and one is pink, so I was thinking perhaps you're supposed to give the yellow one to your significant other and keep the pink one, but I'd imagine that would work for extremely few couples. What if yellow was my favorite color, but my partner hates pink? Confusing design and packaging aside, let's get down to what we all really care about: the experience of using this razor. When I took the razor out of the plastic protective cover and tested a small patch of arm fur out of curiosity, I was stunned by how sharp this thing was. I don't think I've ever used a drugstore brand razor that was this sharp. I was really excited at this point to use it, especially because I typically exclusively use razors with 5 blades because I believe it gives a more comfortable, closer, quicker, and smoother shave. I tested it out in the shower that night. I did my usual shaving routine to get the best results: I gently exfoliate my entire body, then use a thick, creamy shaving balm to condition and protect my skin from cuts and razor burn. I've been doing this for years, and I can't remember the last time I've ever had razor burn, cuts, or ingrown hairs with this routine. I shaved carefully, using this razor. I was amazed and impressed by how incredibly soft my legs were, and how I hadn't missed any hairs. I rinsed my body, rinsed my hair with a warm water solution with a splash of apple cider vinegar, which I've been doing for 3 years with zero problems. As I poured the mixture over my head, it splashed down my legs. Wowza. They were on FIRE! It was so painful! I hadn't realized, but the stunningly smooth shaved legs came at a cost: there were now hundreds of microcuts ALL over my legs, which stung like wild. This had never happened to me before, and the only thing that had changed from my routine was my razor. Hence, the mixed feelings. Did I continue to shave with this razor even after this happened? You bet I did. Did I try rinsing my hair again afterwards? Nope. Never again Final verdict: This razor has a lot going for it. The bright colors are fun and makes the razor easy to find in my shower caddy. It has a clean and crisp appearance. The 5 blades make this a great value, since this type of razor would typically be more expensive than those with 2, 3, or 4 blades. But there are still a lot of factors that would prevent me from purchasing this razor. For one, I dislike that it is made of flimsy plastic, it is far too lightweight for my personal preferences. I prefer a solid, durable feeling handle with some weight to it. I also dislike the experience of being covered in hundreds of tiny cuts and having itchy razor burn for an entire month. I suspect that this is because the head of the razor does not pivot or flex very much, rather, each individual blade is supposed to pivot. In theory, this should give the best, closest shave as the razor can conform to any angle or bumps on the body. However, I don't think that theory translated well to real life. I think the lack of flexibility and limited range of motion of the head of the razor as a whole, lead some of the blades to briefly angle into my skin throughout the shaving experience, causing the nicks. Two razors. 5 blades each. Great value. But an uncomfortably close shave. (In the picture, you can see the two moisturizing strips on either side of the row of blades. From my experience, I wouldn't recommend relying on these two strips to protect you from razor burn or nicks- don't dry shave with this razor!)

BIC Soleil Shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 5 blades on this razor treated my legs to a smooth shave. I was able to shave with the pivoted head with no fear of cutting my knee. I loved the quality and appearance. Lived up to my expectations.

Smooth legs for Summer!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the 5 blade option on the Bic Soleil Shine. They really did give me a closer shave than the razors with 3 blades I have been using. I think that they make it easier to go longer between shaving as well, which is always a good thing for me. The aloe and cocoa butter infused strips are much nicer than the ones that smell like medicine in men's razors. The pivoting head is something that I rarely notice about a razor, yet I appreciate the comfort it gives being able to shave around my knees and ankles. The handle was a bit bigger than I would like because I have smaller hands, and I had to keep switching. That was really the only negative, but it wasn't enough to make me like the razors any less. Overall, I would recommend the Bic Soleil Shine for women who want more blades and more control over shaving.

Lack of moisturizing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good: the Bic Soleil Shine is an attractive razor with a comfortable grip. The five blades meant only one pass of the razor was required to cut all the hair. The shape of the razor and the pivoting head made cuts less likely, even in the sensitive ankle and behind the knee areas. The bad: The packaging was difficult to get into at 0-dark-thirty...I finally resorted to using scissors because I didn't see the little pull tab. The ugly: What I found lacking in this razor was a good moisturizing strip. It has one, but when I finished shaving, my legs felt dry and irritated. Applying lotion afterwards burned, and it seemed like the irritation continued until it was time to shave again. I don't typically use shaving cream, but with this razor, shaving cream is required to save my legs. Overall, it was an ok experience, but I don't expect to be using it again.
