First, keep at least three to four inches of litter in the box, and depending on the size of your litter box, and the number of cats in your household; you might need to add fresh litter to maintain its level. Please try not to have more than two cats using the same litter box. If you have an elderly or ill cat, they may be urinating more frequently. In this case, a deeper base of litter may be needed to prevent over clumping, and maintain one box per cat and one additional box.
