Complete, Compact, Grass Seeding Made Effeciently!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Couldn' find a better product in my life to repair my lawn due to the rain and a new puppy! I pride myself on my lawn care,"Thanks to Scotts fertilizer and HALTS," I seldom see a weed in my lawn, only beautiful lush Gren grass you want to lay on and enjoy! Lately, my days are spent repairing, filling holes with soil, attempting to keep it level, and Thanks to EZ seed, it done. I've practiced deep root watering for years and this has helped when the dogs dig it up I will soon see new grass coming up. But, the EZ seed is all in one and makes it a snap to re-seed. Plus, it works well! I recommend this product all the time . tHanks Scotts job well done on this one!

it really did not perform as I expected from a Scott's product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had some ruts in my lawn caused by voles. I dug them out, put down some Scott's Lawn Topsoil and then mixed in a $30 bag of EZ Seed. Two weeks later and all I have are ruts with dirt and seed in them; zero grass growth. Don't waste your time or money on this product. Go with traditional seed because then if it doesn't take at least you don't feel as if you were robbed.

Be sure to spread the EZ Seed Sun & Shade evenly over the prepared area. Do not mix it into the soil. EZ Seed Sun & Shade should be sparsely applied to the depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If EZ Seed Sun & Shade has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures must be at least 55° F for seed to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80°F. range and not going below 50°F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low nighttime temperatures. The best time to seed cool season grasses is early to mid-fall. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. Waste of time and money!

I had big hugs for these bags. I bought two of them from Lowe's and planted them exactly the way to instruction say. Says it'll grow anywhere especially in Texas or southern areas. I live in Central Texas so I decided to give them a try. I use the two bags and not one of the spots of crown any grass! I wish I could I wish I could get my money back!

We are sorry to hear that your Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair Sun and Shade did not germinate as expected. This seed mix is a combination of bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue. While the ryegrass and fescue should germinate in 2 weeks, it could take 28 days for the bluegrass to come up. We want you to be aware that we do back our product with a product guarantee. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to speak further about this. You can reach us at http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5

Scotts EZ Seed - Very Easy & Grows!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in mid-October, and had occasion to seed a few small areas on new soil that was seeded and growing except for a few spots I missed. We had an unusually nice Fall in the Midwest with temps in the 60s during the day and 40s overnight, so I planted the missed areas. I am pleased with the results as the grass is growing! This was on a hillside area with a lot of rain this Fall, so very pleased it remained where it was placed and did so well.

Scotts EZ Seed

Purchased this product to fill in several bare spots on our lawn. Mostly semi- shaded areas. Found the seed to germinate fast- around 5-7 days. Also the included mulch helped keep the seeded area moist. Keep watering daily or as necessary during germination period. Overall an excellent product. Buy again- YES!

do not buy

like every "easy" grass seed product I have tried this product is a waste of money. First, it NOT as easy as the ads claim. They so all you have to do is spread and water. Presto instant grass, not so. When you read the directions they inform that you have to "loosen" the top 2 inches of soil. That means you have to dig up 2 inches of soil, possibly killing what grass that might be there, and making your lawn more suspatable to soil run off when it rains. Then the grass that grows last for about 2 weeks then dies.

Growing in High Traffic Area

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Decided to try this seed in an area that received a lot of foot traffic and the soil was compacted. After loosening the soil and mixing in compost, the seed was spread over the entire area. The first sprouts emerged in about 9 ~ 10 days. After 3 weeks it's filling in evenly and looking good. Now, all I have to do is keep the neighborhood kids off the new lawn!

I tried this twice without any success whereas your copmpetitor (Pennington) in the same area worked very well.

Not pleased. In direct competition, same area of the lawn, same day, etc., the competitor (Pennington) outperformed your product hands down. Based on your advertising, maybe I don't have enough concrete in my lawn. Additionally your product was more expensive.

We apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced when using the product. This particular product usually has a lot of success stories from users, but it is helpful when we get reviews like yours to help us produce quality product. For Cool Season grasses like Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and different types of Fescues soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate and can take between 4 -21 days to see germination. Warm season grasses like Bermudagrass, Centipede and Zoysia, which germinates in early summer, requires soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees (24 - 32 Celsius) and can take between 5-28 days to see visible germination. Watering also plays a defining factor in germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day until germination is visible and then watering 1- 1 ½” per week as needed. Both excessive watering and not enough watering can slow down or even stop germination of the product. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5 and one of our representatives would be glad to assist you. We hope this issue has not caused you to lose faith in our product, as we use reviews like yours to maintain and improve the quality product that you and other consumers have come to know and love.

EZ Does it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to take some small plants out of the way because they were in the way when I mowed ( slipped and bruised my ribs in Oct trying to avoid them) put down the EZ seed as per directions. rained that night, and then sunshine and then rain. Filled in the spots perfectly used something other than Scotts the last time and bad results will do over with scotts.
