I have bought this several times and have never seen the first blade of grass. Yes a pile of mulch in a bare spot. If it is guaranteed how do you get your money back.

I used EZ Seed to repair several spots where I had Stumps removed. I put new top soil in area and applied EZ Seed. I watered daily and grass came up thick in 5 days.

Easy directions to understand and follow. My results are very nice so far. My only concern is how far it goes vs what you need to use. When you do spot reseeding it's quite a guess as to how much to buy.
