This product is good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been waiting for a while before I review this product. The reason being some negative reviews I read. Actually this is a good product however to get the best result, you have to water regularly and follow instruction and be patient. in the end, I got a satisfactory result (not 100%) in an area where nothing worked before. I will keep monitoring the progress hoping it"ll get even better

So simple!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a couple of planters on my lawn and when I finally moved them it left me with a couple of bare patches. ScottsĀ® EZ SeedĀ® Patch & Repair made it a breeze to get grass growing again on these spots. With a combination of mulch, seed, & fertilizer all in on dispenser all you need to do is shake an appropriate amount onto the bare spots and water it in. I used this product a couple weeks ago and I already have quite a bit of new grass coming up!

Not good for extreme conditions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a heavily sloped back yard with more moss than grass due to also being heavily wooded. I wanted to get more grass on the sloped areas to help with traction (moss can be very slippery). It grew in patches. I am not sure if it was the products quality, as I have always had good luck with Scott's products, or our extreme conditions. I am leaning towards our extreme conditions.

Slow to grow and needs too much water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought three large containers in 2014...took over 4.5 weeks to grow and had to be watered too often. Plus the growth was spotty...Too much cost for too little results. Some areas blew away when dry during windy days I even used good bagged garden soil to ammend the planting area at an extra cost with poor results. Never again. Alan Karwowski

We are sorry for the disappointment you have experienced with the results of your recent seeding effort. I'd like to offer a few tips that may be helpful to you in future seeding endeavors. As with any seed product, ScottsEZ Seed Sun & Shade requires both continuous moisture and warm soil temperatures. When one of these conditions is missing, poor germination is the result. Be sure to spread the EZ Seed Sun & Shade evenly over the prepared area. EZ Seed Sun & Shade should be sparsely applied to the depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If EZ Seed Sun & Shade has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Also, make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used where you are seeding, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination of the seed. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. I hope these extra tips are helpful. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures for northern (cool season) type turfgrass seed (Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue) must be at least 55° F for seed to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80°F. range and not going below 50°F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. Scotts eZ Seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to buy regular grass seed and then add starter fertilizer in an attempt to repair lawn spots. Many times my attempts failed or were not successful. Since I have started using Scotts eZ Seed, I have had 100% success rate. It's easy to use and when added with Scott Lawn Soil, it generates beautiful, luscious, thick grass. It's the perfect mixture of grass types. Best product ever!

THIS product gives excellent results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts EZ Seed Sun & Shade gets the job done. Follow the instructions for the best rssults. There were four areas where Scotts EZ Seed Sun & Shade were applied. One spot was about eight inches long and five inches wide. Two others were about fiive inches long and five inches wide. The last one was about three long and three inches wide. I sprinkled every day to keep areas moist. In about ten days I saw the seedlings grow to about one-half inch.

Not sure why all the bad reviews

I used EZ Seed all around my new patio when it was put in three years ago. It took a week or two to see any growth. I used it in the summer and then after the winter and into the next summer it had grown in very full. To this day it is still very full and I have had no issues with any of it dying. I can't believe there are so many bad reviews because this product worked great for me! I would definitely recommend it

The product meets or exceeds my expectations. I get great results when I follow the easy direction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is simple to use. Just loosen the soil or purple a few inches of new soil over the spot to be repaired. Water twice a day or as needed. See color if light it need moisture. Dark is is good. Read the easy directions on the container. I like the results and the seeds will adjust for sun or shade from seed mixture. III use this annually every spring and during summer for repairs. I use 100 per-cent Scott's seed. It meets my expectations.

Worst Scotts product I ever bought!

I wasn't sure which product to use this time so I bought the EZ Seed once again and a bag Scotts top soil to mix into the soil. I also bought a bag of Scotts Patch Master. After 3 weeks, the EZ Seed didn't produce a single grass stalk. The Patch Master produced grass over 90% of the applied area! See photo's attached
