A little too soft

I bought this item in December and there was a strong ammonia smell & taste to it. I could not finish eating it. I had to through all of it out. I have never experienced anything like this with fish before, but I am pretty sure that it was not edible. Will not purchase this again from Sam's.

The old version that came in the yellow bag tastes significantly better than the current version in the blue bag. I dislike the breading on the current version. It feels chunkier, lower quality and less flavorful. I hope Sams Club goes back to the previous vendor or supplier for this product. I highly recommend you avoid this item.

I purchased this Tilapia before and it was okay; however, I purchased a bag yesterday and made 3 fillets for dinner. They were absolutely awful, tasted like eating pure chemicals, with a taste of rotten fish, plus they were discolored. I called the local Sam's store and expressed my dissatisfaction, they offered me a full refund. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT BUY THE TILAPIA!! OMG, I was felt sick to my stomach and awful the rest of the evening. The store manager said he would forward the information to corporate with the bags the Tilapia was in.

I've purchased this product before and had no problems. However this purchase had a strong chemical taste to it. Like another reviewer said, it tasted like it had been marinated in ammonia. I'm glad I tasted it before serving to my family. Ruined my dinner though. I won't purchase this again and I am returning it to the store even though I cooked it.

The bag of Tilapia I bought was bad. I thought it tasted funny because I thawed it out inside of the separate pouches and the instructions said not to. I threw that fish out because it tasted like someone’s musty armpit smells. The second time I tried the fish I took it out the pouch and put it into my air frier frozen and it still tasted like armpits. Now I have to throw the rest of the bag away. I’m disappointed and I won’t be buying it again.

Title says it all. I've gotten this a few times on separate occasions, and it sometimes tastes remarkably like soap. I thought it was a fluke the first time but then it happened again later. There is some kind of chemical in this stuff, I've never had this issue with frozen tilapia (or any other fish for that matter) from other places.
