[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the new Kenai kayak from Lifetime and I am absolutely in love with it! I took it out for the 1st time down a creek where I live (Chesapeake, VA) and it was so much better than I anticipated - the tracking is lightyears better than my other 2 yaks and there are some great features built in that you wouldn't even think to want in a boat. I usually fight with the wind but I had no problems at all controlling the boat despite it being a really windy day. My favorite feature is the strap on the side (the "Paddle Keeper") that allows you to easily store your paddle. This doesn't seem like much but if you've ever battled with a paddle as you try to get in and out of the boat or take a photo, then you get it. I also love how the there's a spot for a water bottle / beverage that is well thought out - it's not just a hole that only fits certain size bottles that ultimately just ends up holding a pool of water. There is a nice-sized hatch for storage (that extends the entire length of the kayak) and a sets of straps at both the front and back of the boat, making it super easy to bring and store gear. The kayak itself is also a really good size and has several foot pegs - meaning both me at 5'4" and my husband at over 6 feet can both use it (with room for our infant). Overall this is just a really well thought out boat, I feel comfortable knowing I'll be able to bring what I need and have a safe and comfortable trip on the water.
The only thing worth considering with this one is the weight, it's definitely on the heavier side. My other 2 kayaks are a lot easier for me to carry by myself, but they also don't have near as many features and overall just aren't the same quality. I'd still choose this one over the others but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you're smaller-framed like myself.
