Great Customer Service

Darwin helped me locate and procure several parts for my kayak that had been lost. He was very efficient and went out of his way to help. I'm very pleased with the level of service I received.

Very Happy

We've already taken these out several times and have really enjoyed being out in nature on the water. I feel like these are a good value.

Great Maneuverability

I was very pleased to receive the Kenai kayak from Lifetime Products to review. I really enjoyed my time out on the water in the Kenai. The kayak was effortless to maneuver along with being very stable and speedy. Honestly, I was surprised how easy it was to paddle. The tracking suffers a bit with the flat, stable hull, but I think the ease of paddling makes up for it. I’m pretty picky about the comfort of my kayak seat and the Kenai didn’t disappoint. The padded back and seat meant I could paddle for a couple of hours without any aches. One of my favorite features of the Kenai is the integrated bottle holder. Usually my water bottles won’t fit standard holders, but the Kenai was able to accommodate my 40 oz. water bottle! Also, the Kenai has an accessible dry storage right by your seat. The downside of all kayaks is transportation, but the Kenai’s handles helped with maneuvering the kayak onto my car rack and with tying down. Overall the Kenai is a great choice for flat water paddlers looking for an easy, enjoyable kayak experience.

Kenai Maiden Voyage @ Lake Powell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was fortunate to have the opportunity to test drive this Kenai before it hit the market thanks to the lovely folks at Lifetime! My husband and I both took turns on it while enjoying Lake Powell, although he ultimately stole it from for the majority of our trip as he took a liking to the comfort of the padded seat and extra leg room. We have enjoyed the basic sit on top Lifetime Daylite 8ft kayaks up until now but the Kenai was definitely an upgrade on many levels. The Kenai sits a little over 10ft long so combined with the padded seat and backrest it made for a very enjoyable trip especially on longer journeys to lower Antelope Canyon. I loved the extra dry storage beneath the deck to stash another dry layer, snacks and electronics as well but be sure to have your own dry bag and chord otherwise you might lose items as there's nothing to contain your goodies. There was tons of bungee reinforced space at the front and back of vessel for storage and our cooler of provisions. We were grateful for the heavy duty T - handles on front and back and side luggage handles that helped us to maneuver to the waterfront which proved to be exceptionally challenging at the Antelope Point Marina that is about 100ft below normal water levels currently. We had to hike down and back up again a steep/loose gravel hill but at least had a good grip to make it out. I will say being a petite 5'4 gal I was thankful for my husband's help getting the Kenai to the water in this case because it is almost 20 lbs heavier than the Daylite I'm accustomed to (Daylite 36.5lbs vs. Kenai 53.5lbs) Lastly - the Kenai is sturdy AND fast! I am 7months pregnant, had our 80lb golden retriever cruising with me, plus our cooler and even through the large wake and chop that came our way from motorized vessels I felt very secure. Paddling against the wind wasn't as challenging either. The Kenai left whoever was on the Daylite far behind even with the added weight. For reference my husband is about 190 pounds and 6ft 2". Our pup loves to swim as well so she was in and out of the boat often and we were both able to grab her life jacket to get her back in without capsizing which was a plus LOL. Overall, Kenai was a true "Dreamboat" and we can't wait to rally some longer distance paddles with her this summer now that speed and comfort are on our side! Might just need to get a second one or I see a lot of roshambo in our future.

Good for the Price

You cannot beat the price on this kayak. The seats are not built for larger people and the kayak needs a lot of input from the paddler to keep strait when floating on a gentle river. They are built stout and for lakes and occasional use they are great.

Great except the seat

Is very easy to use and this is my first sit on top! I will say that my only issue I have is I feel that the seat is much more narrow than a sit in. The clasps that secure the seat do not stay put like I thought they would, you move one inch and the clasp becomes undone then you essentially have to sit yourself up and it’s uncomfortable. My hips are wider so the seat was not very comfy, wish there was a seat replacement option that sits a little higher up so that my hips aren’t squished by those seat securing clasps!

LifeTime Kenai Kayak!

LifeTime sent me this kayak to review and test for them and I am happy to say this is an awesome beginner kayak! Even if you are experienced, you will have a blast on one of these! My favorite feature has to be the paddle holder and the back Bungie cords because these just make it so easy to carry things u need when out on the water! I took my kayak to a pond and tested it out and it was a blast to paddle and go around with! One thing I wish there was, I wish there was a bag for the storage container to keep your stuff secure. Other than that, I have VERY little complaints about this kayak! Highly recommend!

Great Features!

I received this kayak from Lifetime to test and review. It’s a nice kayak. The build feels solid and it’s very stable. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the seat back. Because of that, this is something you could easily be comfortable on for a couple hours out on the water. It tracked fine while paddling, however once I stopped paddling, the kayak turned left. I may have not been sitting quite centered in the kayak, so I’ll have to get out and try it some more. My favorite feature is kind of a toss up between the dry storage hatch, the paddle holder and the seat back. These are all features I was very impressed with. Honestly, I loved the bungees on the front and back too. I can definitely pack some gear for a day out on the water. One thing about the dry storage hatch: It appears to extend the entire length of the kayak. I would have liked it to have been sealed off so as to ensure the contents don’t slide to the front or back of the hatch. The kayak was a bit heavy and a bit awkward to carry by myself, but as I’m not used to carrying a sit-on-top, and my muscles are a bit weak from the off season, I’ll just have to look up some tips and tricks to carry it. I will say, I really like the handles on the ends and sides. All in all, I would recommend this kayak. It will definitely give you many fun hours out on the water.

Could & Should be Better!

Quality We purchased two of these Kenai 103 kayaks last month. I asked the store to open each one to assure nothing was missing as I’ve read multiple reviews of missing seat clips. The first one we opened was indeed missing one of the seat clips. We opened the second one to find it had a defect with the rear bungee cord not being connected to the kayak on one end…not something easily fixed due the size and location of the hole. The next two we loaded up and took home. When we unloaded them we found one missing the padded seat back cover! Unbelievably neither of the kayaks have the “Two Flush Mounted Fishing Rod Holders” as listed in the description and features sections on the website. Very disappointed in the lack of quality control in the manufacturing and assembly processes. Experience We thoroughly enjoyed getting to paddle over coral and through the mangroves until suddenly and unexpectedly, one of the seat clips let loose! Quite a surprise! Unfortunately, this continues to happen multiple times every time we take the kayak out. The clips are poorly designed and have an unneeded attachment between the buckle and the clip causing two chronic problems. 1) the clips easily come apart and get lost, rendering the seat back unusable. 2) the connection between the buckle and the clip is too weak and consistently pulls apart, causing the seat back to collapse unexpectedly. The bottom “seat cushion” lasted 3 days before tearing loose, exacerbated by the continual collapse of the seat back. The rod holders shown in the pictures are also missing!?! Summary The hulls are stable and appear to be durable for several years. Unfortunately, consistent with multiple other design issues, the side carrying handles are not placed at the center of gravity, prohibiting easy two person transport along the sides. The fishing rod holders are simply missing completely. Seat buckles and clips are notorious for coming loose and getting lost. Such easy to remedy design & quality control issues that significantly impact the enjoyment of an otherwise fun boat. Hopefully there’ll be a few simple changes soon to address these major flaws.
