Great Dehumidifier

This dehumidifier was pretty easy to set up and works well. There is an App that you can use if you want that sets or changes the controls. Up to four gallons using the cube (three is heavy enough for me) or if you need to directly pump it somewhere you can do that too.

The Best Dehumidifier I have ever used

Love it. The fan seems stronger (it sounds like a box fan running) than other residential dehumidifiers I have had. In about 8 - 10 hours it pulls 2.5 gallons of water out of the house air. Capacity is above average. Most dehumidifiers have capacity ratings in 20 pints (and have to be emptied often). This Mides cube has capacity of 50 pints (4.25 gallons). And you can set the shutoff at different levels; if you just plug it in and turn it on, it stops (display will read P2) at 2.25 gallons. 🪣 I turn the unit off, lift the unit onto a chair I placed adjacent to the unit, and pour the unit's bucket out into a five gallon bucket. In this way, I can immediately replace the unit and restart it. 🏃‍♀️ My unit is not close to a sink, drain, or an outside door, so I can not use the constant run mode with the drain option.

Best price

Seems to run ok. I have it on continuous run and it took a little figuring out to set it up. It could use a longer hose for draining. I will probably have to buy one so the unit can be positioned out of the way.

Mighty Dehumidifier

This Midea Cube 50 Pint dehumidifier is doing a fantastic job in our basement. Our basement is approximately 6-800 sq feet (if you count the back unfinished part of the basement). My husband had to turn it down because it was doing too good of a job. He empties it every morning so it isn't so heavy to carry if it is full. We probably could have used a smaller one, but when we go on vacation it can run for several days and not get full. I hope this keeps working for years. We put off buying one for several years after our old one quit, and when I found some mildew down there we finally decided to invest in a new one. Since they aren't cheap, I went with the Midea name, and surely hoping this one lasts for us as long as the 1980's model did. "hoping"

Quickly removed musty odor from basement

I bought the Midea 50 pint Cube to put in my Mom’s basement after her previous dehumidifier died. After 3 weeks without one, her basement developed a stale musty odor. Settling it up was a breeze! I set it up to use the pump feature to avoid having to manually empty it. The initial humidity reading was 81%, (We live in NC, so we know humidity in the summer). I checked it the next day and it was already down to 63%. By the time I checked it the second day, it had taken it down to 50% which is where I originally set it. Over the next couple days, the musty smell was gone. I have since adjusted it down to 45%, and it has maintained that level without any issues. I would definitely recommend it to anyone having moisture issues in a basement!!

Great dehumidifier

An awesome addition to my home. It was been removing 3 gal of water about every 8 hours since we set it up. We had gotten a new metal roof 4-5 years ago and since then the humidity in our home has been very high and mold was staring to grow in spots. I have very little hands on with this machine, just love the pump. Only need to shut down and clean filter every few weeks.

Nice Design!

I have used this for 2 1/2 summer / fall months so far, and it is still working great. We currently have it in the continuous drain mode in our basement, but I also tested it in pump mode and bucket mode with excellent results. It did a great job in bucket mode to dry out our carpets after having them steam cleaned. The phone app shows how much water is in the bucket and estimates how many hours it will be until the bucket gets to your selected fill level. Also, the bucket has a very large maximum capacity compared to other dehumidifiers. My only negative comments are that the dehumidifier is heavy, which makes it a challenge to use in bucket mode since the dehumidifier sits on top of the square bucket and must be lifted off the bucket and set aside to empty the bucket. Also, given the large water capacity of the bucket, if you select maximum capacity for the dehumidifier to automatically shut off, the bucket with water is also heavy to pick up to empty. Regardless, I would definitely buy this model again. By the way, Walmart has a great price on the 4-year extended warranty, which I highly recommend.

does the job

pulls a lot of water, but 3rd time bucket filled, sounded like a jackhammer turning off/on fast... hasnt done it since, thinking the shudder when it shut off tripped/reset float switch or something along those lines...been dumping daily before it fills and going to set up constant drain. fairly quiet otherwise for a larger unit, the large bucket is a bit awkward to dump just due to its size, but to be expected. the noise the one time is only reason knocked off a star...had it continued, likely the chattering relay or whatever woulda hurt itself, but seemed like a fluke, as only happened once... like everything else these days, its chinese, will be surprised if it lasts more than a year or two... as everything goes these days, looks decent so far, and does what its supposed to so far, only had it running a couple weeks

Overall very good.

Overall it is a great unit. Unfortunately I believe mine is defective because no matter what I try the pump does not turn on. But it works so well outside of that we are keeping it.
