This initiative is one small change Vital Proteins is taking toward a more sustainable future. However, here at Vital, we always strive to exceed our customers' expectations. And that's why we have such a strong brand loyalty with our fans! We have passed your feedback and this information along to our packaging team for further review. As for opening the canister, we do not recommend using anything sharp like a knife or scissors to open your packaging. If you would like to use a tool to aid in breaking the perforations, we recommend that you gently use the back of a spoon or a butter knife to pre-break the perforations on the lid. If you can pre-break the some of the perforated line, this should allow you to lift the lid with more ease.
