As compared to a Concept 2, the standard for rowing machines, the stamina X AMRAP performs very closely but at a much nicer price. From the few workouts I have done, the feeling is almost identical between the two machines and I found I actually prefer the seat for the AMRAP. In terms of quality, some of the plastic components on the fan and underneath the bar feel slightly flimsier. Downsides: - I don't believe the AMRAP calculates drag factor, meaning your results are not calibrated for true effort and times can not be compared between machines such as how the concept 2 is used for competitions and records. I am curious to see if this will affect my 2k time (as I was a few seconds off from a sub-7min on a concept 2, not having true effort calculated on the AMRAP means I may not be confident whether I actually achieve this time). Although, I have not found much of a difference in my times for distances so far and have felt a similar level of intensity for my split times. - Split times are only shown with preset conditions and don't appear when just rowing such as when warming up. - Lack of bluetooth capabilities for the monitor. I found I had the same issue as another reviewer where there was a hex nut stuck in the fan that was rattling. I thought at first a component had broken when I was initially rowing till I took the fan apart to remove it. Strange that it has happened to two purchasers? In summary, the AMRAP is a great rowing machine alternative to the Concept 2 that comes at a much nicer price. For any serious/top level athletes it will fall short with no bluetooth/true effort comparisons. For all other recreational athletes I would highly recommend this machine over any of the much cheaper rowing machines on the market.
