Broken

I just received this rower today, I built it and I was excited to finally have a workout again. After 2000 meters and hooking back on the hinge multiple times in between, I finally took a bad fall as it separated again mid stroke. My neck hurts but I really like the rower, honestly if I can just get this fixed this would be great but my machine is defective. Foot strap is also broken, I tied it to get it to work. Trying to upload a photo but it says error

Assembling and make is not great

Was so excited to get this but when we started asssmbling it everything went down hill. It was almost like the parts were not made right. When attaching the two main peices together we had to basically fource it and make it work. We also could not get one of the foot attachments to line up with the existing holes.

Comparable to Concept 2

So far so good. Bought for my home gym. I use it about 3 times per week. Feels just like the Concept 2 and half the price with $150 instant savings.

Be aware not near Concept II in my opinion

This is how product arrived the second time. Cheaply constructed, I am going to keep it because I think it will serve purpose but beware, its not near the Concept II. If 550 is your budget, its better than nothing. I am mechanically inclined so I think I have it fixed myself. Cannot believe they sent this machine out like this. First one came in damaged, sent it back, its the photo with mesh wrinkled.

Great rowing machine

After looking at many machines we settled for this one mostly based on availability in Canada. It took 75 minutes to put together, the assembly instructions are easy to follow and the parts well identified, but due to the weight of the two main sections it can be a challenge, and a second pair of arms comes handy to get the machine sections out of the box. The machine runs very smoothly and silently, the build construction is excellent. The computer offers several training programs and settings, and even a "game" mode. However there does not seem to be a memory function that we can use to store previous sessions and compare data. My only concern is the use of a bungee cord in the resistance system, we shall see the durability of this in the long run. Separating the main and rail frames is not as easy as the manual suggests, and once the two parts are apart, storage could be a challenge not to damage the rower or the floor! Therefore you can expect to keep the machine fully assembled and only move it away when not in use, it is not "foldable". Otherwise a very nice rowing machine.

mechanically comparable to concept II

Mechanically wonderful - electronically just good enough. This rower is solid and well built and for half the price of a concept II it's a bargain AS LONG AS you don't care about the very limited options on the display. For your current output power, the only option is watts (no 500 splits or cal/hr). For your total output, the only option is meters (no cal). Also, it is an annoyance that the stuff I want to see (strokes per min, power (ideally a 500 split), total output (meters) are all in tiny print at the periphery of the readout. Most of it is taken up by some silly graphics that looks left over from the old pc game Oregon Trail. Also the heart rate monitor goes in and out. Also, the watts seems to max out at 564 (that is pretty high, so no big deal). But, the display DOES show just enough, and it IS readable, so it's just good enough. Mechanically it's fantastic- every bit as smooth and well-built feeling as a familiar concept 2. Maybe better. Feels exactly the same- so much so that I suspect that a patent must have just worn off or something. For a home workout it's great- no regrets. Only wish the display was better. If they are reading this: ditch the gimmicky graphics and just tell me, in big numbers, my strokes/min, the 500 split I'm currently pulling, the total meters, and the total time. That's it. Highly recommended with above caveats. 5 stars because the price makes up for the bad display.
