This machine is well made. The rowing wheel is smooth, no creaks and has enough resistance. However its a royal pain to get the2 pieces to hold together. The 2 pieces are held together with a groove at the bottom and a pin at the top. The pin is a little too small and slight moving of the rower will cause the holding mechanism to dislodge and the 2 pieces to break apart while rowing. It feels like they had this whole thing well engineered, but gave that small crucial mechanism to tie both of them together to be engineered by an intern and did not test them enough.

I had been looking for a suitable home rower for almost a year. As you probably know you can't even buy a Concept 2 right now and they haven't been available for over a year. I'm so glad I bought this rower instead! Someone needed to fill the need for a more affordable version of the C2 and this rower does it. Is it as good as C2? Is it better? For home use, I believe so. I would buy a C2 for a gym because of their proven durability, but functionally this rower delivers the same thing as a C2 for much less $$. For starters it is built strong. It weighs 99 lbs where a C2 weighs 55. I am guessing this rower has more steel in the frame and a C2 utilizes more aluminum. Otherwise it is remarkably similar to the C2. The fan is quieter than a C2. It makes a hissss sound more than anything which is not very loud. The seat makes absolutely no noise.This rower has a steel pull chain just like C2. The resistance is very close to the C2, maybe 10% easier to pull. You can adjust the fan from 1-10 just like the C2. My first workout was a 10 minute row on setting 7 and after 5 minutes I thought "what have I gotten myself into" so it's definitely going to let you challenge yourself. I personally like the computer BETTER than C2. The computer has an Indiglo backlight which makes the display so much easier to see. It runs on batteries so no cord to trip over. It counts in METERS which we all know and love, though you can switch it to miles. There are multiple programs, and a game, much like C2. And this comes with a heart rate strap that connects wireless directly to the rower. No need to download an app, set it up, connect with your wifi, enter a credit card just to use the machine like some rowers (NORDICTRAC). I wanted was the ability to fold the machine to store it. However I found you can just stand the machine on it's end and store it in a corner, so no issue there. So happy with this purchase and looking forward to getting in shape.

I have had this for a little over a week it is a great rower equal to that of the more expensive ones in the gym such as the concept it is a little more expensive however you get what you pay for

I did my research to compare this with the Concept 2 from my gym. I am very pleased with my new rower. It works and feels very similar to my gym rower. Even my boys can use it now.

I had been eating a Concept 2 rower for a long time. This rower seems to be just as good. The PM5 monitor for the Concept 2 is probably the only thing that is better than the Stamina X. But for the $400 cost difference (on sale) I think it was a no brainer. I'm happy so far. Easy to assemble. (Read instructions before you start because you need to use some of the packing foam as a stand while assembling)

When I first put the machine together there was a slight knocking sound coming from the fan. When I removed the fan cover I discovered a small hex nut stuck to the magnet. I couldn’t find a location for the hex nut so I assume it was picked up by the magnet during assembly at the factory? After I removed the nut the machine worked flawlessly. I use a CONCEPT 2 at the gym as part of Crossfit wod’s on a regular basis. This rower not only equals the gym’s rower but is actually a little more taxing when set at the highest fan level-where most of our Crossfit wods are done at. I’ve gone no further than 5000 meters at a time so far but overall I’ve no complaints after the initial set up. Training for crossfit wods with this rower is excellent because of the increased load over the CONCEPT 2. At the easiest fan setting I notice no difference in 500 meter times compared to the CONCEPT 2.

The mechanics of the rower are quite good. If you just want a rower that gets the job done then this is a good one. The shortcomings are in the fit/finish and in the electronics. The assembly took some finesse due to the screw and bolt holes not all being aligned correctly, but I was able to muscle it together. Regarding the electronics, I did a direct side by side to compare the calories the rower calculates versus what the Polar app calculates. I had my heart rate monitor paired to both of them simultaneously to ensure the results were comparable. The Rower said I burned almost double the calories than what the app said.

Machine delivered to doorstep on time specified. Assembly was accomplished in about an hour, requires two people for some parts of assembly. Proper tools included. Used that day, a smooth, excellent machine, sturdy and relatively quiet. Everything it said it was and would be. A real pleasure (well, it is exercise) to use.

Awesome overall quality in comparison to other available models previously owned a 1399 and this one blows it out if the water . Warenty and great customer support as well slight recommend ation . I'd like to see a blue tooth capable monitor from u guys one day and maybe an app . Theirs a vr app i use wile rowing that accepts rowing data via Bluetooth and I'd really love to be able to use a stamina rower with it

We would use something similar to this model at our local gym daily. Condensed our workout to just this so we decided to buy one for home so we could save on the trips to gym. I did my research. Turned out that this is even better than the one we used. Thinking about buying another one so we can workout at the same time. The monitor takes two C batteries. It took a while longer to put it together but it was not torturous. My husband hates putting stuff together and did not complain once. Highly please with the results. It is awesome. Plus members have free shipping. No excuses. Love it.
