Kayak itself is great. Storage hatch Is horrible.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought one of these a couple years ago, and I love the kayak itself. Very stable and tracks well. My only complaint was the storage hatch. It's basically just a hole with a lid. It's open to the entire hull so that anything you put in it gets lost inside the kayak. Basically impossible to retrieve while on the water and you just have to listen to it rolling around inside the hull the whole time. Getting the water bottle out afterwards was like playing a bad children's game. I ended up rigging a dry bag to the bottom of the hatch bezel since I couldn't find any kind of pouch for it. Regardless, I liked the kayak enough to purchase another one this year just to find out that Lifetime redesigned the hatch and managed to make it even worse! The previous style had a flat twist on lid that something could be sat on top of but the new one is a rounded top making it impossible to use the space over it without having whatever put on in rock around. In my case, a cooler. It's obvious that whoever designed this thing has never actually used it. It's a shame since I like the kayak, but I'll be selling it and purchasing a different brand.

Outstanding Kayak - OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kayak is amazing stable and excellent for fishing ponds, reservoirs, and lakes. I weigh 240 lbs and was amazed has to how this thing handled as well as the stability. I recently moved and the movers inadvertently lost one of the hatch covers. I went to the Lifetime page and chatted with Randy (customer service rep) within a minute he told me that they would send me out a replacement part free of charge. Outstanding product and outstanding customer service!! If only Comcast and AT&T could provide such customer service! I love you guys!

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for hubby who loves to fish and can't afford a boat. Comfortable to sit in forming periods of time. Has just enough room to carry his equipment. Bought a cart from lifetime also so he can roll it to the lake on his own. Of course we use it when the family goes out to play. Great quality!,

Customer service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently just purchased our first kayak and would like to give a big shout out to Bruce in customer service. One of the handles and plugs were damaged during shipping. Bruce immediately sent out the replacement parts at no charge to us! Thanks again for the outstanding service!

Does what it is suppose to.

I love the kayak with storage and plenty of space for fishing gear, but there is a draw back and it's not the weight. They use plastic hooks to hold the back support strap on and with any weight of adjusting your self or wanting to lean back some the plastic hooks pop off. When they pop off you can imagine what it is like floating in water and what you expect to be there magically stops supporting you and pops off. This is a huge design flaw

A LittleToo Soft...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great kayak. it would be perfect with one exception. It is made from a type of material that gets soft in the hot sun. It is therefore easily damaged by J-Hooks(which I do not use! And I highly recommend avoiding the use of with this kayak! I use 2 foam, molded cradles,2 bungee cords front and back and 2 cam buckle straps), and the cam buckle straps that are commonly used to lash a kayak,or canoe, to the top of your vehicle. Mine was damaged in very early September of this past summer by the cam buckle straps that I use to lash it to the roof of my SUV.I don't lash it down very tight, just enough to keep it from wiggling side to side and from lifting up during high speed ,freeway travel. These straps loosened all on their own, thusly causing the damage by rubbing on the edge of the gunwale of my kayak as I drove home from Sonora,Ca. I found a solution for the problem, and after talking to the nice people at Lifetime, telling them of the problem, and my already worked out solution, which was approved by them (thank you, Alfonso, for your help!),I went ahead with a modification where I used some self-adhesive neoprene, 4 well nuts, and a 441 backing plate to make a protective barrier where the straps can go without damaging my boat. It's not pretty. Functional, but not pretty. Other than the above described issue, I find this to be a highly versatile and fun kayak. The storage, and inner hull access, are great. It has the best rod holder in its' price range. Tracking is great, thanks to the large hull skeg. I take it up and down the local river, where it does well in Class 2 rapids.I've also fished from it at a high altitude lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This lake is at 9,676 feet above sea level, only a few acres in size, but some 90 feet deep(according to the fish finder that I installed on the Angler). It's clear water fed from snow melt. It' home to some very beautiful Brook, and Rainbow trout. It's difficult to access due to the road being little more than a 4 wheel drive only goat path ! But it's definitely worth the effort it takes to get there. Overall, it's a pretty great kayak! And I love my Lifetime Tamarack Angler kayak!

Fun in the sun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went on a kayak fishing trip, I really was surprised how comforting and peaceful a time it was. I thought about it a lot. I went to the local sporting goods store to look. The angler Muskie Kayak. It was all I hoped for. The storage as in other reviews is bad, but the handling in the wind is easy and fun. Going in the shallow water between rocks

So much more comfortable and sturdy than a pelican!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for Mother's Day! I have borrowed my son's Pelican fishing kayak for the last year and I had NO idea there could none that much of a difference in comfort and balance. My 5 year old sits between my legs on this and we are able to both fit comfortably and I can paddle and fish just fine! My son now wants to sell his Pelican and get a lifetime! ❤️

Great except

I bought this Kayak a year ago (actually the 103 version). I love it for fishing, however I have encountered two significant problems. First and most important, there is no way to secure the bow and stern when transporting. The lift handles supplied are not strong enough to tie down. This for me is a significant safety issue and should be rectified in all their Kayaks. Second, there is no interior access in the stern. If you need to add accessories you have no way to provide inside security and must either use self taping screws or rivets. To me this is another significant problem especially if you need to run power or other cables from the stern to the bow.

Love Lifetime Fishing Kayak

We just bought two of these and fish often in Santa Margarita Lake California. We get lots of bass and catfish, just yesterday 14 catfish. Kayak fishing is fun. We enjoy the water and silence vs a boat with a motor. FYI I flipped my kayak last time and lost two poles and a tackle box and my Lifetime rod holder, Lifetime replaced it! Great Company. Love their tables also.
