Good for big guys

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am actually 6'1" and 250 lbs. I was assured by many that it would not be a problem with the kayak and I can say the Kayak supports me. I was never interested about standing up in a kayak so for me it was about sit down stability. When I used the standard seat I was comfortable and stable and now that I have built an add on seat from a handicap shower chair with a back I never bet my butt wet.

Love this kayak

Bought a pair for myself and wife. Are having a great time with them. We've used them on lakes and in the Monterey Bay by the aquarium. They are very stable. Tracking is great. We don't fish so never used the rod holders. Really enjoy being out on them. They are a bit heavy so a cart helps a lot. The storage inside is a but funky. The hatch opens up to the entire inside, so if you put something in there, it can move around to anywhere underneath. I need to figure out how to keep items near the hatch. I did lose a hatch (my fault) and Lifetime made it really easy to get a replacement. One trick to share, if you want to keep your butt from getting really wet because of the scupper holes under the seat, buy some foam golf balls on eBay and plug those two holes. Works great.

Customer Service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased two Tamarack Fishing kayaks. They are extremely stable. Sometime during the night, someone came onto my property snooping. I had the kayaks on the tailor strapped, secured and locked. However, there are two 6 inch dia. storage compartment lids. The would be thief's decided to look inside the Kayaks by removing the lids. However, I noticed that my sensor light came on and ruined the opportunity; though it seemed. In the morning we wen to a lake and low and behold one of the lids was removed, and no where to be found. Consequent y, I contacted Lifetime willing to pay for 2 lids so I would have a spare. However, there was no charge. Great customer service. Furthermore, we took these Kayaks out crabbing at the ocean and they worked fantastic. I did get a 10 pound weight so the high tide would not take us 1/2 mile down the coast when lifting the crab traps. The were very stable in this environment. Great to fish off of and plenty of room. The seat was OK, however for my wife needed more padding.

Looks like it should do the job but quality is minimal at best unfortunately

I bought this kayak about 3 weeks ago. I had really high hopes for it however I was really disappointed in it within 90 seconds of its first time out. Honestly, I've heard good things about this kayak and I think I got a lemon. After dragging it MAYBE 20-30 feet through some grassy brush to the water I managed to puncture/wear a hole in the bottom of the 'yak which caused me to ultimately essentially sink it as soon as I was far enough away from shore for it to be really inconvenient. I couldn't believe it. After about 3 hours of bailing the internal cavity of the kayak out I was able to make it back to shore safely. At first, I thought it was my fault. Don't drag your kayak, you dummy. Sometimes though you have to in order to get to that hunting or fishing spot due to brush, overgrowth etc. Upon further inspection I was shocked to feel how thin the kayak really was. You could have put a hole in it dragging across my wood flooring in my house. I spent some time discussing the potential repair with my local kayak shop and ultimately we decided it was not a financially sound direction and I will be purchasing a new kayak.

Good Service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought Tamarack Angler 100 Fishing Kayak (Paddle Included) less than half a year and worn out and was in bad condition. I tried to find a place to fix it but, theres was no place to fix it so, then I conacted the Lifetime company claim department about my Kayak. They checked all the information about the kayak and said that they would normaly deny these claims but, since my kayak was very new they wanted to assist me and get me a new one with no charge. Their costomer service was very understanding and clear.

Fabulous Customer Service

This company deserves five stars, for sure! My son bought a kayak with his own money and realized that the lids were missing. The store could not find it so we contacted Lifetime and they sent it out right away. They did not even charge us anything for the missing parts. Super pleased with the customer service and glad to have my angler back out on the water again.

Does what it is suppose to.

I love the kayak with storage and plenty of space for fishing gear, but there is a draw back and it's not the weight. They use plastic hooks to hold the back support strap on and with any weight of adjusting your self or wanting to lean back some the plastic hooks pop off. When they pop off you can imagine what it is like floating in water and what you expect to be there magically stops supporting you and pops off. This is a huge design flaw

Great kayak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in mid May and have used it into August. It gets me into remote ponds with a strap-on cart. Put my pack on it and tow it for a few miles up a trail, pitch a tent, paddle out and catch dinner. Only complaint (and it's not really one) - the hull takes on a little water when left right side up in the rain. Fixed that with some plumber's putty on every screw that goes into he hull. I'm happy with it.

Awesome Customer Service!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I lost a hatch cover for my kayak and called to get a replacement. I was blown away that in this day and age you are sending me a replacement at NO charge! Yes, it's a small inexpensive item, but you didn't even charge me an arm and a leg for "shipping & handling". THAT is customer service you folks can be extremely proud of. I will sing your praises at every opportunity. Thank you!

Lifetime Tamarack Angler

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought one of these last year....already have an eMotion camo sit-on top fishing kayak. Very easy to paddle, and use. Tracks very true, and with the pole holders, great to take out fishing! Very please, and the dog can sit in the front also!
