I bought a z51 c7 museum delivery first year & still have the car. Dry sump di motor, GM says use Mobil1 & that's all It's ever had. I change the oil once per year myself, engine still consumes no oil 9 years 78k mi later. Engine runs like new, 4cyl mode & all. 32 mpg at 70 mph. GM was right, Mobil1 5w-30. How does one really know how the oil that they use is really good oil? Well, all i can say is that with using Mobil 1 for quite some time now, I've never had any motor malfunctions. Change it on schedule and use Mobil 1 and you're good to go.
