Gives fish a bad name. Not sure how long this so called fresh caught fish was left on the boat. Did not cook it because the smell was soooo bad.

Best frozen fish

The package we purchased tasted terrible. They even smelled terrible. I'm not sure these were really Cod. The former frozen wild caught Cod Sam's carried was really good.

They have unthawed filets, no way in hell were those never frozen. But they don't have these in stocks? I'd rather have nicely frozen cod that I can unfreeze whenever needed, than the stuff just sitting out waiting and waiting with an upcharge.

We’ve been buying these cod loins for a few years. We love them. Unfortunately, the last two packages we have purchased have not been anywhere near the quality. The filets now have dark sections and we are now finding bones frequently. Don’t know if Sam’s has changed vendors or not, but hope our next bag is back to good quality filets.

This fish is absolutely fantastic! Between the size of each fish, taste and firmness, this is the best non breaded white fish I have ever had! What I also really like about this fish is the firmness. A lot of white fishes are very light where you feel like you're not eating anything. This fish is very firm almost like chicken where you feel like you're eating a very hearty piece of fish. Each piece of fish is pretty firm and thick. They're almost as firm as scallops. They're also great for making fish soup. I absolutely love this fish!

I was buying cod from Sam's for several years and it was usually Atlanric cod loins - an excellent product, originally produced in Iceland. It was extra white, tender and absolutely delicious. My recent purchase turned out to be Pacific cod loins product of China, fish had grey coating, less juicy and sort of chewy. Does not taste as good as Atlantic cod from Iceland, in the past Atlantoc cod cooked with butter and lemon was divine. Tasted better than lobster.

The last bag I purchased had an amazing recipe in the back. It was sort of an Apple/fennel sauce or something like that. I made it and it was fantastic. However, the recent bag I just purchased does not have this recipe on the back. Do you possibly know which recipe I could be talking about and can you send it to me? It was around August 2023. Trying to incorporate more fish in my diet and this product makes it super easy. My Favorite Way to Prepare Cod Loins. Put one of these individually packed frozen fillets on a baking sheet. Squeeze fresh lime juice over it, then, sprinkle some pink sea salt and pepper over it. Place it in a preheated 400 degree Convection Toaster Oven for 17 minutes. It is perfect. I won’t have a problem eating this for the rest of my life.
