Good for the investment. There are some channels not available until you obtain a license, but those that are freely available, they are good. We tested in our neighborhood, but the buildings were invasive

We use these up in the mountains while we are ATVing. They have great reception. I'm planning on buying another set. They are worth getting the FCC license to use legally. Sign up with the FCC, pay a $70 fee for the 10 year license.

what I received is NOT as described, This thing is doing good to get 5 miles on flat terrain, it is good only for a kids toy, not for hunters, campers, hikers. useless waste of money.

I had purchased the first version of this radio before. Worked so good I bought more. Great for camping with a group of friends. Radios run all day. 12v solar panel charge for Green camping. Got great coverage . must have.

I am totally new to the GMRS radio world. I purchased also the MXT400 Mobile unit for our Jeep to go with the handheld GXT1000's They work well together and look forward to years of service from them both.

These are great for a bowling center. Durable for being around the machinery in the back, comes with the wired ear piece for easier communication between the counter person and the back person to make sure calls get handled in a timely fashion.

I purchased these radios and they boast 20-25 mile coverage and I barely got 0.5 miles in the woods. Really not happy with these and not worth the money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used the radios for a car cruise up the coast. Great range and allowed us to keep in contact with the other 9 cars in the cruise.

We did not realize that these radios require an FCC license to operate. That point was not clear on the product description. We will now return the radios for a refund because we don't want the hassle of applying for the license.

the range is stated to be 36 miles, on the moon maybe, the actual range is less than 1 mile after that it is all static. the signal is very good under 1 mile
