Good but could use some fixes

I finally made the switch from years of having a Fitbit to a Garmin. I've been mostly pleased as there are some great features and customization that are awesome! My only irritations with it are the fact that it doesn't track steps if arms aren't moving, such as when I'm mowing the lawn or pushing a cart and somehow. The cheap Fitbit I had was able to do it so hoping the Garmin has an update to fix this. The only other issues I have with it are that the buttons aren't very sensitive and have to press hard on them to activate and use them. Also, when I flip my wrist to see the time it doesn't display about 40% of the time and I'd like that sensitivity to be increased as well. Overall it's great though and it has many colorful and customizable clock faces to make and choose from.

Not as good as I was hoping.

My FitBit died, and I thought I'd upgrade to something fancier, but this isn't it. At least once a week I get an alert that my watch isn't recording data and i have to reboot it and reconnect it, and then I get an email welcoming me to my new Garmin, when i've had it for 8 monhts. It doesn't record steps nearly as well as FitBit. Why do I have to tell it I'm walking? It hasn't been an upgrade for me at all.

Has all of the essentials.

I originally had the Vivoactive 3, which I liked. I use it primarily to sync with my outdoor and indoor bike riding to include strength training and yoga. Oddly, I like the many selections for the actual face of the watch. I also like that it syncs with my IPhone and Garmin Connecs. I preferred to go with Fenix series, but they were too pricey. In fact, I waited for this one to go on sale. Overall, a solid watch for what I need.

Multifunctioning watch

I bought my Vivoactive 5 a few weeks ago. I've worn a watch my entire life, but not a "smartwatch". I've had GPS watches that I bought for exercising, but never used them as a day to day watch. I'm enjoying my purchase. The main reason I bought the watch was for running. The ability to download music and listen without carrying my phone combine with Garmin's top of the line GPS were important in my decision. I also realized this might replace my Garmin S42 golf watch. I've enjoyed the ease of changing watch face designs via the IQ app. I still haven't gone for a run or played golf with the new watch, but will explore both this week. So far, a versatile, economical watch with a lot of potential. I'm happy with my purchase.

some better, some not so

I bought this to replace my Fitbit. I wanted the activities and apps. I felt the compass would be handy. Sleep tracking inferior to my Fitbit. Told it was due to my pacemaker. I wish the compass was an actual app. It's stalled on me several times. I like the low profile. the fitness tracking is very good. I've used Garmin many years for fishing and hunting and was excited to try this watch out. It's a keeper. I wish the sleep tracking and compass were more reliable.

Best Fitness Watch Ever!

Honestly, if you’re thinking about getting one, stop waiting and just do it. I will preface by saying that I’m an Apple user and it pairs with my phone just fine. Anyways, my family could not stop raving about how great their Garmin was and how I needed to get one, especially because I’ve been training for a half marathon and blah blah blah. So… I finally did it, and I wish I’d done it sooner! This thing tracks everything - steps, body battery, heart rate, sleep score - EVERY.THING. It comes with a Garmin Coach that has been giving me guided workouts. Right now mine is for running. You just go through and pick what you want to train for and they give you several coaches to choose from. Did I mention it was FREE? And I can’t believe how long the battery lasts! I use the features on this watch DAILY, and I charge it once a week. Most times not even to 100% because I don’t want to miss out on my step count. (LOL) Anyways, just get one. I don’t miss my Apple Watch at all.

Vivo active 5 review

i bought watch about three weeks ago and love it so far. helps track calories and links to other apps such as Myfittnesspal to make tracking and eating easy. good for wearing while running and playing sports. not great at tracking reps when weightlifting but tracks calories and let you edit weight/reps. overall really good. love that it monitors sleep and hydration to help push me to be better

Not sure what is meant by Review Title

I have had to call Garmin for help at least four times, support was excellent. Even with the help I continue to struggle with the simple task of “ Power Off”. I find it very difficult to scroll down to get to Power Off. The manual is not helpful at all. I am fortunate that I only need the watch to monitor my vitals. That activity is working very well. Not sure what several of the functions are such as Body Battery. Overall all I am satisfied.

I am loving the new features!

I bought this watch a couple weeks ago and so far I am loving it. I bought it to replace my venu sq that I had for a few years. The updated features are nice and very intuitive. I like the additional settings for sleep and coaching. I don't do as much running as I used to, so I use it for other workouts (strength training and yoga) it seems to work well with them. I also enjoy the costumizable faces.

Good and frustrating

Features are great. BEWARE the watch face scam - if you load the face app you can never return to the default settings without Paying MORE. Instructions mentioned importing historical data from vivo active4 but at 6 weeks of wearing it still isn’t reading my normal ( rx boosted ) heart rate and so over estimating stress based solely on HR. Also this is a Big watch. A little tough on people with small wrists. I wish there were natural fiber / breathable band options - any dampness under the default gives me a red rash. I like the features but I wish it was smaller and used my history
