Great Upgrade from VivoActive 3

I wanted a basic watch & was very happy with the VivoActive 3. It was time to update it & the 5 is a great option. Affordable with much better features than what I had. The band is very soft, comfortable & fits my wrist very well. The screen is clear & easy to read. Overall I feel this is a great entry/mid level watch for those who are looking for something that has a fair amount of functionality & is affordable.

Great SmartWatch

I’m loving my new Vivoactive watch. I previously had a Garmin Instinct and found it hard to read and the multiple buttons not very efficient. The Vivoactive screen is very easy for my 68 year old eyes to read and having fewer buttons more efficient to get where I want to be.

Latest Update Wrecking the Watch

I had a very satisfying first two weeks with the watch until the last update. Now a full charge lasts less than a day. I charged my watch 100% before an hour and a half ride and it was down to 33% when I was done. Please fix this NOW. The watch is useless to me like this.

disappointed

I got this watch for Christmas and have had nothing but problems with it. I can't get it to register my steps,, trying to get to the activities is lucky. Sometimes it come up other times it doesn't. I have the vioactive 3 and have never had a problem with it. In fact I am returning it today.

Garmin Vivoactive5

Watch works very well. The touch screen is annoying at times. The buttons were better. The brightness of the display is great. The functions are very useful for tracking your health. I replaced the band on day two with a nylon one. Less chaffing on the wrist.

Love My Garmin

I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5 approximately 6 weeks ago. It is a great smartwatch and a fantastic value. I have been so impressed with the level of sophistication as compared to my previous fitness tracker as well as the simplicity and ease with which to navigate. Bottom line, I love my Garmin.

Used throughout the Day

My third Vivoactive watch. I depend on it to track my sleep quality and activity as well as alerting me to text messages and calls on my iphone. I would have rated it excellent, but I am a bit disappointed in the support for the watch. I can't seem to find out how to change the weather reading from Celsius to Farenheit.

Thanks for your review! You can change the unit of measure for temperature on your vivoactive 5 by following these steps: 1. Swipe up or down to view the weather glance. 2. Select the glance to view the current weather for your location. 3. Hold the bottom-right button. 4. Select Weather Options. 5. To change the unit of measure for temperature, select Temperature. Love the device - except the battery

I really do love the Garmin- this is my fourth Garmin. Unfortunately, the rechargeable battery and the special charging plug make for a problem. I'm never in the same place as the proprietary charger when it dies, so I walk around with a dead device on my wrist a fair anoint of time. Please - if this is supposed to be a seriously helpful tracker, put the long-lasting nicad back in the next round. Throwing away a tiny batt twice a year is better than having a device that works part time.

Phantom Naps I didn’t take

I got my Vivoactive 5 for Father’s Day (less than a month ago), to replace another fitness tracking watch. I find the Sleep Score function questionable, especially after it said my low score overnight was due to, “interrupted sleep as a result of yesterday’s nap.” I didn’t take a nap and see on the Garmin Forum this is obviously a known issue as, “Garmin-Laurie” responded there 7 months ago (!), that engineers are, “still investigating ways to improve” this function. This in spite of suggestions there to allow owners to be able to turn off or on this function. The Sleep information is critical, as it is shared with my cardiologist and internist. If this isn’t corrected quickly, I will return the watch and ask for a full refund.

Nice... but glitchy > needs some software updates

I only had the watch for 2-3 days... but already experienced some random reboots/restarts while browsing the body battery graph... and I also got 2 ugly "bricked device" kind of experiences. The watch doesn't turn on on gesture or button, screen is black and it needs recharging via cable or hard reset to get back to life... and unfortunately loses all graph data for body battery, stress, heart rate... The solution at the moment might be the auto-lock function. Somehow the watch activates to easily... Why is not a double tap feature and it only requires a 1tap to wake up ? Hopefully this could be solved via a software update. This is such a nice watch... Thanks!
