I love this watch! I had a Garmin Vivomove 3S, and I loved it. But, I wanted one with more capabilities. I got this one as a gift, and wow! I didn't realize how much I was missing out on! Mostly I hike/walk, and I love how easy it is to start tracking on this watch. The heartrate monitor seems to be more accurate on this watch than the Vivomove as well. And I like that it has HRV tracking too. I know this watch also has the capabilities to set up music, and to set up the ability to pay with the watch through tap to pay, but I've not used either yet. And I love that it's waterproof!

I've had other fitness trackers for years but have found them to be glitchy within a year of purchase. When I finally reached my frustration limits with the tracker I had, I started looking for an alternative. The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is perfect -- it is an upgrade from my other fitness tracker while still being a mid-range product in terms of price (I've never wanted or needed every possible bell and whistle fitness trackers can provide so I like the midrange models). I'm very pleased with this tracker. The app that comes with it is also much more versatile and informative than the app that came with my previous tracker. I'm officially a Garmin fan.

I am getting used to it, however, not as user friendly as the I-watch. From what I can tell, you don't have audio alerts which I rely on. And for some reason I can't get my text messages to show up. When you google it has solutions but never for the options on this watch even when you put the specific watch.

fitbit just ain't what it used to be (no thanks to Google). Since 2016, I had owned 4 fitbit devices and was ready for a change. I compared Garmin and Apple SmartWatches and after initially thinking a Garmin Venu SQ 2 was the way to go I finally decided on a VivoActive 5. Battery life was the deciding factor between Apple and Garmin. The Garmin Connect app seems to be much more functional than the fitbit ever was. The VA5 communicates with MyFitnessPal and Apple Health via Garmin Connect so all is good there as well. I like having actual buttons to start and stop an activity instead of relying on a touch screen. So far, I am quite pleased with my choice.

I’ve been using this watch for about a month and it’s still not properly tracking my sleep. I figured it wasn't accurate because I just started using it and it needed time to acclimate to my body but here we are a month later and it’s still inaccurate by a long shot. I was in bed reading for two hours and chatting here and there with my partner. I wake up this morning to check my sleep score and it recorded those two hours as deep sleep and gave me a high score for great sleep when in reality, I didn’t get a minute of deep sleep and am exhausted today since I slept so poorly. It makes me wonder which other features are wrong that can’t be so easily measured. I’ll be returning.

I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5 approximately 6 weeks ago. It is a great smartwatch and a fantastic value. I have been so impressed with the level of sophistication as compared to my previous fitness tracker as well as the simplicity and ease with which to navigate. Bottom line, I love my Garmin.

I got this watch about 2 weeks ago. It took me watching some videos to figure out all the features but once I did that I was set. I love the watch, love the tracking of my health stats such as sleep, stress and calories. I am using one of the 10k training programs and while I prefer verbally guided runs, the accuracy of the watch GPS and stats is incredible!

I had a Venue Sq and decided to get the Vivoactive 5. The bigger face is great and the watch is easy to navigate. Software/sync is far better than the Venue was. Haven't had any issues getting the watch to connect or upload data after a workout. I mainly cycle, golf, walk and some cardio/Pilates...all of which are supported with this watch. The new sensor is more accurate for pulse ox and I like the sleep metrics it captures. A great overall watch that does everything and won't break the bank.

I have been using this watch for a couple of weeks now and so far I love it so much. The screen has such a sharp, clear image on it and I have no complaints about the tracking features. I still need to try out the coaching function and see what I think of the workouts.

Good features for tracking, easily customizable, and good longevity. I had a few vivoactive watches of previous models and this is an upgrade in every way. It’s not particularly rugged and doesn’t have bread crumb tracking for outdoor running, but if that’s not important to you this watch is perfect.
