Love the device!

This watch was perfect for what I was looking for out of a fitness tracker. The device can record my runs, and bike rides, while also showing my my HR live which is why I like it the most. The sleep seems to be accurate which is helpful. Overall very good fitness tracker. The only negative I would have regarding the device would be the charging cord. I have had to replace the cord 2 times which is a inconvenience, although the battery does last long which offsets that.

I’ll never go back!

I had an Apple Watch prior to my Garmin and even after a week I could tell I would never switch back to Apple. The Garmin is a much better watch for half the price and has so many cool features. I like how in depth the health info is and how the watch can coach you into a better lifestyle. Absolutely worth the investment!

Garmin takes the lead--great watch, battery life

My first smart watch was a Garmin 10 years ago and then I went to the competitor that I thought had more advanced features. Not so any more! I'm very happy with this Garmin Vivoactive 5--the steps, sleep score, heart beat, and all the other data that syncs with my phone via Garmin connect really beats the competition. While the other big names were resting on their perceived reputation, Garmin was out researching and out developing the competitors.. Eleven day battery support--and to think, one of Garmin's competitors is bragging about 22 hours. I've had this watch for a couple of weeks and still learning additional features but I highly recommend it..

Amazing battery life!

Loving my Vivoactive 5. So many amazing features. It is so refreshing not having to recharge my watch every day! The only thing I’m not a fan of is the setting for strength training. Hard to keep track of reps. I like setting my watch and moving forward with the workout. It’s a distraction figuring out the reps.

Great smartwatch and training aid

I got tired of my Samsung smart watch needing to be charged every day, and sometimes not lasting through the day. I loved being able to track my rides and walks, sleep et cetera, but always in fear of the battery giving out. So I looked to Garmin. I haven't quite gotten the 11 days battery, that is really just in smart phone mode. But I do get multiple days with this one, I've used it for sleep tracking, heart rate when I've forgotten my chest strap, music, et cetera. Some of those things drain the battery faster, but it still holds up much better than my Samsung. It is not as bilgy as the Samsung, but it is a nice looking sporty watch. The band is super comfortable, the watch is really lite. It has a lot of features, and it took some getting used to, as the setup is different from the previous watches I had.

So complicated to set up

I did get the Garmn Vivo5 watch because of the advertised battery life; but I was soon disappointed that beyond that the watch is so cumbersome and ackward to set up. Walking is my sport and with this watch the measured distance diminishes each time I use the feature (what in the world?) After a long look for an adjustment for the distance, I get a long and cumbersome explanation on how to calibrate the size of my step when it should be a simple and straight forward process. I also should mention that beyond my disappointment with measuring distance the battery life in the watch so far is very good. I wish i could return this watch and go back to my Apple Watch with short battery but very reliable and easy way to measure long distance walks without a college degree in watch set up. I would be willing to follow instructions from a human instead of a page of senseless page of written instructions. For future buyers I hope that some authority in Garmin reads this note and decides to take action to solve the issue above mentioned

Big upgrade from the Vivoactive 3

I really like this upgrade from the vivoactive 3 and well worth the cost. The sensors work a lot better and all the colors make it easier to read. I feel it has a better connection to my phone for alerts than my vivoactive 3. I like the additional feature of O2 level, respirations, and health snapshot.

upgrade from the vivoactive 4 in most ways

The general features are better than its predecessor however the overall construct is a bit inferior. I do like the sleep features and the general fitness insights, they are a bit improvement over the 4 version. Would like more guidance on how to make the battery last as long as advertised as well.

Multifunctioning watch

I bought my Vivoactive 5 a few weeks ago. I've worn a watch my entire life, but not a "smartwatch". I've had GPS watches that I bought for exercising, but never used them as a day to day watch. I'm enjoying my purchase. The main reason I bought the watch was for running. The ability to download music and listen without carrying my phone combine with Garmin's top of the line GPS were important in my decision. I also realized this might replace my Garmin S42 golf watch. I've enjoyed the ease of changing watch face designs via the IQ app. I still haven't gone for a run or played golf with the new watch, but will explore both this week. So far, a versatile, economical watch with a lot of potential. I'm happy with my purchase.

My entry into smart watches

Purchased a month ago and still figuring out how to use all the features. Enjoy connecting to my phone's services. Find it keeps me inspired to keep moving. The data for sleep has helped me take my sleep health seriously. I look forward to figuring out more.
