so far, okay

I made the transition from Apple Watches for the longer battery life. I have followed all the online forums and videos for getting longer battery life, but none are helping. The battery lasts 3-4 days with almost everything turned off and a basic watch face with no color. It lasts no where near 11 days.

Amazing features

I bought this watch a while ago and I absolutely love it!! It has so many more features then the last watch that I had. I can keep track of everything that I need to keep track of all in one little nifty compact watch! I hope others will love their vivoactive 5 just like I do

Exactly what the active person needs!

As a former college athlete who maintains an active lifestyle with regular workouts (4-5 times a week) and occasional sports, I’ve tried a variety of fitness wearables. The Garmin Vivoactive 5 stands out as the best by far. It offers all the essential features you expect from a fitness tracker while excelling as a smartwatch. What truly sets it apart is its phenomenal battery life—by far the standout feature of the device. Garmin continues to impress with a perfect blend of functionality and performance for both fitness enthusiasts and everyday use.

Exquisite piece of engineering

It gives me significantly more information than I need. My biggest challenge, at the age of 71, is learning how to utilize all it has to offer. I'm a former Pilot and have utilized Garmin's Aviation products. I do not believe that in either market, there are better products available. Having said that; Garmin needs to hire a "Normal" non-geek individuals to help them sort out user interface.

Like my Vivoactive 3 Better!

If it didn't need a battery upgrade for my Vivoactive 3, I wouldn't have purchased the Vivoactive 5. The watch and bright colorful screen look and feel cheap compared to the 3. Just like my smartphone and car, there is more junk on it than I need. I bike fairly seriously and play picklrball and walk at other times. I monitor those and my heartrate--that is all I need it for. I absolutely hate the interface and the new Garmin Connect program. Sometimes simpler is better. I also could pause my ride or walk for a pit stop or talk and restart on the 3. The 5 automatically times out and saves, so I have to restart the activity. Battery life in the 5 is great, but that is the best I can say. I also don't need inspirational message when I start my day! Very disappointed overall!

Excellent Watch With A Major Flaw

The watch has some fantastic features for all sorts of activities and does a great job of tracking your progress. I like that I can simply add my music to it and carry it along for those long runs. Battery life is very good, as well. However, the watch has one major flaw. When I select an activity while listening to music, the watch will immediately disconnect all Bluetooth devices (e.g., phone, headphones, etc.) as it tries to geolocate using GPS. Changing the setting from "All Systems" to "GPS Only" works sometimes but I have still encountered the issue. Reconnecting to Bluetooth devices takes a few minutes, which is tedious and annoying.

Garmin 4 Life

I looked at every possible smart watch I could and I narrowed it down to Garmin. I did feel a little overwhelmed with all the different options. I know you want to hit a larger market, but I think you could really benefit from lowering the number of models you offer. It makes it a little confusing. Especially, for new garmin users. I do love the vívoactive 5, but I wish the whole face was metal, instead of plastic. I get the appeal of it being more light weight though. I absolutely love the battery life. Love all the features. I wish that it was a little easier to use the weight training feature. It works fairly well with my iPhone. I have type 2 and the Dexcom feature is cool. It doesn’t work sometimes, but I think once the bugs are worked out it will only get better. Overall, I love this watch. 10/10 will buy Garmin again.

Some Feedback

Where is the serial number? After I'm done running and press the A button to stop and save my data, it doesn't recognize that I pressed the button. How do I fix it? Also, it takes a long time to get the GPS signal. My very old Vivo watch was much faster. How do I fix it?

A good purchase

It works great for my needs of daily health monitoring and workouts. The best feature is the battery life it is very good. The monitoring is also very accurate and it gives me the option to edit the distance when on a treadmill or something where it may not measure accurately. I would recommend any Garmin watch as this is my second and my wife has the Venu and all three have held up. I got one scratch on my face but when you do the things I do that happens.

Great battery life and easy to use

I have been using the my Garmin for 2 weeks. It was a bit difficult to cut the cord from Fitbit but I was having to charge my Versa every other day and that is too much of a hassle. I really like: Better connectivity with my phone Watch how to sleep automatically once it learns your sleep schedule Gives your sleep and exercise reports right on the watch Apps are easy to navigate Apps don’t drain the battery as quickly as Fitbit My only negative comment is the Fitbit would automatically recognize a walk and count as exercise. The Garmin doesn’t recognize a walk unless you use the gps. You get steps but not exercise credit. Overall I’m very satisfied with this watch.
