Great features, many ways to follow daily actions

I love all the ways to track my activities on the watch and on the app on my cell phone. There so many ways to track many different activities, more than I will be able to use. But for many people it can be wonderful tool for real active individuals. I had a vivoactive 3 watch for many years before I decided to upgrade to this new vivoactive 5, GREAT move. I liked mine so much that I got the same watch for my wife. It has been very great for us to share the data we are gathering on our health.

So far, great fitness watch

I bought the Vivo Active 5 as an early Christmas gift to myself and have really enjoyed it so far. I had been working on lifestyle improvements for about 6 months prior to buying the watch and the information it gives me has really helped me keep my fitness and nutrition goals in mind and on track for the most part. Once I tailored the watch to my personal preferences I have been really pleased with the tracking and review system. I like the periodic motivational notes and reminders. The nudges to move are not too intrusive and are helpful reminders to get up and move if you are like me and sit for long periods of time for work. It has also been interesting to track my physiological information as I process stressful experiences psychologically. Super cool! I bought the vivoactive 5 instead of 6 because of the reviews on them and the fact that the vivoactive 5 watch does not need to contact "the Mothership", keeping the tracking information private, which was particularly relevant for me. The choice to connect to the app on my phone remains mine alone and does not force me to connect to be able to use the features of the watch. I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about their basic sleep, exercise, HRV, breathing, etc. I imagine focused athletes would require something a little more detailed. I may upgrade in the future!

How did I ever get along without this!

I bought this for my wife. She's a teacher. She doesn't allow phones in her classroom, so she doesn't look at hers. This watch keeps her in communication, even at work. It's been very convenient on multiple occasions. She has also used our a a game. She keeps trying to get the best sleep score she can. 87 is her best. What's yours? The watch looks good. It's stylish. It's sleek and doesn't snag on things like a bulky watch can.

Ok for a simple smartwatch but no Vivoactive HR

I bought this to replace my Vivoactive HR, which I had had for over 9 years. I did my web research and was repeatedly told that the Vivoactive 5 was the best replacement. But after a week of using the watch, I realised it was not even close. I am not a runner, I do more hiking, mixed sports, kayaking, and climbing. The features I love about the Vivoactive HR are completely missing from the 5. No stair sensor, no altimeter, and no calorie tracker. Multiple websites, including the Garmin website, did not provide this information. Oddly enough, it took a long conversation with ChatGPT to work out how to actually compare old Garmin watches and new ones to get the complete comparison of watches. At the moment, I am using the 5, but as soon as I can find a replacement that has all the features, compactness, small face, and battery life of the Vivoactive HR, this 5 is going up on Marketplace for sale.

I understand the frustration with this concern with the vivoactive 5 and the activities you want to use this for. I would recommend our Venu 4 which I have linked below. http://ms.spr.ly/6422sx1UY

Love it!

I have had Garmin products for at least 10 years. I had the vivofit 3 and 4 and loved them, but I had bought several 4's and they kept dying on me after I changed the batteries. So, I decided to give the Vivoactive 5 a try. I love it! I love the features and I love the GPS!

Low battery life

I decided to reward my self at the end of this year by getting a Garmin Vivo 5 but I was disappointed because the battery life was one day. I recharged it and again it lasted for two days. I returned it back. But still I planning to have a new Garmin in the future with long battery life.

Not Water Resistant

I have had 2 Garmins. Venu 2 & Vivoactive 5. Both say they are water resistant. They had the swimming meter on them. Both quit working after about a year & a half. I swam in 3 ft of water 3 or 4 times a month (Jun-Sept). It is a shame, I really liked both watches. The water is the only thing I can think of that made them stop working.

Love the features

I received this as a gift for Christmas. Pros- set up is easy, using the workout features is easy after the initial use. The red light at night is the best feature ever. It is easy to read, navigating takes a bit to figure out but the buttons are big enough and use friendly. Cons- not to many but one is huge- Hear Rate - it is clearly not accurate and this feature needs fixing. It shows my HR at a Hiit level -150+ during steady state zone 2 elliptical work. My other band shows my HR around 90 during these workouts as did my Lilly. I would give 5 stars but this is a big error - it impacts the accuracy of my workout data, intensity minutes, recovery, etc. Overall- I love it but lets fix this issue and it will be 5 stars!

Great upgrade!

I switched from a FitBit and it's fantastic! It definitely tracks my heart rate better and overall is more accurate compared to the FitBit. I am using it 24/7 to get a baseline on activity, sleep, and overall health - so far so good! Quick syncing to my phone and other apps makes this a no brainer!

Perfect

Does exactly what I was hoping for without overwhelming me. I was looking for something to help me understand my fitness and track my exercise as well as sleep. I still wanted it to have smart watch features as well, though. It does all of this well. How I have it set up, the battery lasts me 7-10 days. Battery life was another important feature to me.
