This was a perfect size for my 6 lb Chihuahua. The material is very soft and it does have a cushion.

The small bed is too small even for my small cat to curl up inside the donut. Get a size larger than you think you need.

The texture of the fabric on the bed is soft and comfy but the memiry foan mattress inaert is horrible. Hard and stiff.
