This is my second Garmin Watch. The features on this are incredible. I love how it syncs with my phone automatically after a connection interruption (Getting too far away from my phone or after a run). I am a Gym teacher and I use it in the gym to control the music over the PA system. I can skip songs, control volume, pause and restart. This makes it perfect for circuits or stations. I also like the fact that I don't have to have my phone on me when the office or principal calls... my watch alerts me. I am also an avid hunter. When I go on scouting missions I like to have the tracker app on to determine where I had traveled. One time I got lost in the woods and I used the Garmin to point me back to the parking lot. It was pretty scary and the watch gave me confidence that I would make it back.

Being a sea kayak guide, I found this watch to be very appealing because of its great features (such as a recreation profile which includes kayaking), featherweight design and great battery life. Those going on expeditions may want to consider the Solar Surf but the standard version is more than sufficient for me. Plus it looks so much cooler in its vibrant Lime case and strap!

As one who works outdoors and alone a lot of the time I needed a durable watch I could count on. Additionally, health issues require a need to monitor HR and O2. This watch fit the bill on paper. Now having worn it for a few weeks, what I read was just the beginning. The buttons allow usage with gloves on and the alert feature is a comfort to my wife. I like the length of battery life! Nothing but praise. I've told several men this is the watch for them.

Overall I'm happy with the Instinct 2. I really like the looks and ruggedness of the watch as well as all the info that I can constantly have displayed including up-to-the-moment heart rate. My main frustration is that it won't track walking on a treadmill. From doing a search on the internet it seems that many people have this issue with Garmin's watches. Walking on a treadmill is my main type of exercise and I really wish it would work. I've tried using the "Walk" activity but that won't count distance because it is basing it on GPS apparently. So I made an activity by duplicating the Walking activity with GPS off but this counts only about a tenth of the distance that I walk on the treadmill (the same when I test it by walking outside with GPS off, though it counts my steps correctly) and the other 9/10's as stopped. So I tried the 'Treadmill Running' activity but it count's 90 percent of the time that I'm walking (with hands swinging naturally at my sides of course and not holding the handholds) as "Idle" even though I'm walking at 3 miles an hour. Thankfully walking outside with the normal "Walking" activity with GPS on is very accurate but in the winter I'm not able to walk outside everyday. I've even manually entered my walking stride into the app in case that made a difference but it didn't. Again, overall it's a good watch, however, being that I mainly walk on a treadmill it's not as ideal as I'd hoped.

The product has many very worthwhile features, since I am new to this watch it is taking a bit of time to get through the features and capabilities. It is very dependable and has a long battery life. The phone app is quick to update and has massive data output.

The weather function is a lie, it's almost never able to display. Seems to have an issue connecting to my phone. After reading up on the weather function it seems this is a very common problem GARMIN doesn't care to fix. I would return it, if it weren't a gift.

I've been wearing this watch everyday for about a month. And I love it. I love the display, granted it's not as "flashy" as some of the other options. Everything is very easy to see, I love that the heart rate is constantly monitoring and I love the layout of the home page. The display is easy to see in any level of brightness. I've used the running, stair master, pickleball, and snowboarding activities. I didn't realize the amount of information it would gather while doing certain activities, which was a pleasant surprise. I needed a tough watch for my job, anxious to see how well this watch holds up.

I really do love this watch. No matter what I'm doing, hiking, biking, fishing, digging up broken irrigation systems or ??? it's on my wrist. It can get caked with mud and I just scrub it off on the sink and it looks and works as good as the day I got it. I don't miss the touch screen AT ALL. In fact, now that I'm familiar with the button functions I like it better than the touch screen I had on my Vivo Active HR.

Previously owned the Original Instinct. Upgraded for increased battery life and enhanced feature list. All features are more user friendly and allow full customization. I specifically use watch for workouts and you can now change rep count(feature not previously supported). Upgraded battery life is an added plus. Went from 14 days to 28.

I have worn my instinct 2 now everyday for a year and it is my lifeline. I cannot go without it. It's lightweight on the wrist. The data is extensive and covers my basic of everyday activities. It was priced to my affordability. I thought the monochrome display would be an issue with all the color options out there, it's not. Thanks Garmin.
