Garmin Instinct 2

Its a great watch. I wish the light stayed on longer and the monochrron was More visible. The battery life is a great plus!

great watch for the price

Has a lot of features of the expensive watches while being a lot lighter. Battery is really good for how small and light it is

Awesome watch choice!

Had this watch for 3 years and love it. It gets used everyday to just tell the time etc. and record all my activities when linking to strava, hiking MTB and kayaking. Used to record a 12 day kayaking trip around Cape Scott on Vancouver Island - batt needed charging everyday but no problem with a power pack.

The best watch I've ever owned

I received this watch as a gift and have been totally satisfied with it. I was able to customize the display to my liking. I charged the battery the day I received it--about 3 weeks ago--and haven't had to charge in again. I have two daily alarms set and I like the feature which enables me to turn off the alarm if I've already done what the alarm was intended to remind me of.

Efficient and powerful without all the fluff

I was looking for an upgrade to my VivoActive 3 and had always been interested in the Instinct line of watches. I appreciate the ruggedness and overall intention of doing everything that is needed without all the unnecessary extras and gimmicks. The Instinct 2 gives you more options than most people will ever use and does this in specific, well designed apps and features, and not done just fill out a list. Even the watch face design with its memory-in-pixel monochromatic look screams efficiency. I use it to for running, weight training, light hiking, and cycling. With the the new upgraded features, I also use it for sleep tracking and general health metrics. It performs better than my older VivoActive 3 in terms of accuracy and easy of use. Not to mention the battery life at full charge is nearly 3 weeks even while doing one or more activities per day, 5 days a week. Some people might be turned away because of the lack of color and limited watch face options, but to me, I like the simplicity and efficiency it brings. Even the default layout, after I customized the data fields, is almost exactly the kind of data-rich face that I had tried to mimic on my old watch. I couldn't be happier with this watch!

Amazing Battery Life & Great Visibility

I have had a lot of Garmins including the Instinct, Venu 2, Indtinct 2, 955 Solar and Fenix. This blows all of them away. I have never wrote a review for any of the Garmin watches so this is my first. It is a Fenix 7x on steroids. It has a 34 day battery life. I took this off the charger over 12 hours ago and it just now went down 98 percent and that was after a gps activity. It is lighter than the Fenix 7x if you use the included nylon band. You also get an extra silicone band in the box and the flashlight is probably twice as bright as the Fenix 7x. For only $100 more than the Fenix 7x you get a brighter flashlight, 6 more days of battery life and an extra nylon band. It's a no brainer. I can't even feel it on my wrist while using the nylon band. Since the screen is 51mm I can see the data without squinting like on the Instinct series.

Curious

I enjoy the data it supplies, but curious to know how reliable it is and how to use it. The HR monitor seems to be very accurate. The Body Battery seems a little off some days. It will show my battery to very low, even when I wake up in the morning. I can't seem to figure out what constitutes as stress when it shows stress while I'm sitting around and my battery is almost in free fall. I like the watch overall.

Colors of case and wristband don't match

Such an expensive watch but not even the colors of the watch and wristband match. I got the instinct 2 in Limone / Lime. The watch menu is not snappy either. You cannot change what apps should send push notifications. I could go on and on. Very disappointing. My much cheaper smartwatch from another brand is - unfortunately- much better.

Great watch

Love the watch, with a few exceptions. Battery is great, had a lot of different sports features over my old watch. Had a Garmin 735. On the new watch the band is not as comfortable as my old (near the watch edge.) Also the buttons are a little harder to use or get used to. Haven't had a chance to use all the features but so far so good.

Outstanding Outdoor Watch

Great training tool to make sure you get your prime training. I use this for mountain biking, hiking, lifting, etc. it is way easier that the old instinct solar. The lay out is better and much easier to use but still familiar. There really isn't a need to get the Fenix or Epix unless your needs require it. For everyday training and use this is a great value. I can keep up with my training and see how I'm progressing. Highly recommend
